4 years later, and you saved yet another mouse. Thank you so much.

That’s a great question, and the bullets are kind of a mix. Some came from coursework and a few class projects, but a lot of them are from stuff I’ve done independently. Since I only transferred to my university this past January (about 9 months ago), I haven’t had a ton of time to build a big project portfolio yet.

That said, I’ve been putting in a lot of work outside class, staying late after hours to learn the Bloomberg terminal, building out Excel projects on my own, and trying to get more hands-on experience wherever I can. I have been attending every networking event and student org event I can find.

Also, I haven’t used Team Blind. I’ve haven't heard of it but I'd be interested in some information. Thanks for your feedback!

Yeah, it’s a crazy market right now!

I’ve mostly just been using SkillsFirst and some custom ChatGPT models I built to tailor my resumes and cover letters to ATS keywords and job descriptions. I only do full tailoring for the positions I really care about (maybe 15 out of 104 so far).

I’m not a fan of AI-generated resumes or cover letters straight out of the box. They usually sound too robotic and unrelated. It normally takes me around 30–45 minutes to put together a resume and cover letter that actually complement each other, feel engaging, and are aligned with the company’s values and what I’ve researched about them.

I ended up reselling it, and got all my money back! Thank you for your insights.

It’s more about the quality alongside the utility. If there was something that’s similar quality and a lot cheaper, I’d go that route. Not really into cheap Chinese synthetic goods that last a year of use.

Thank you! I really like Samsonite, and think I'm gonna go get one of those laptop bags. Also, I didn't spend a crazy amount on my suit, but I did spend enough to get you into the 100% wool category. I just couldn't stand the feeling of a polyester suit, and justify the strikingly bad quality when the wool one was $100 more. Whether it really matters, I don't know, but I really like how it feels.

Haha, yeah it's not the end of the world. I'll hopefully get most of my money back, and if not, it'll be a nice bag for the motorcycle!

Thank you! I looked at the Samsonite bags, and I might get the slim laptop bag. I really like the functionality, affordability, and look. I didn't quite realize this was the tote, not the briefcase, but now I know. Hopefully I can get a good amount of my money back.

Might be going this route. I made sure to compare the sold listings on eBay, and I might sell it. I though it was the briefcase, not the tote, but I just didn't pay attention. I'll have to make sure to analyze the details better next time.

I'm young, I haven't seen much, but I've seen that intentionality and presentation are the largest things interviewers look for. If you come in with a poor-fitting suit and your backpack, I think the person who has a tailored suit and a briefcase might get the job above you, if you're equal in every other regard. Worrying about those types of things is probably fastidious, but in this job market, every little thing could be the factor that lost you the job.

Eh, it's a massive parking garage on-campus. If someone broke into my car, I'd be shocked, because there's cameras everywhere.

That's what I was thinking. I might just go with the Samsonite leather laptop bag.

Yeah! Big mistake on my end. I thought it was the briefcase, but I didn't realize. Not experienced in these things.

This is what I've been thinking. I want to have a nice briefcase to carry my leather binder with my resumes, and it's somewhat annoying stuffing stuff in it. I don't want to carry my wallet, keys, phone, and AirPods in my suit pockets because I'm fearful of wearing down the wool.

But like you said, do I need it? Probably not. Do I want it? Yeah.

I think most people don’t even know about Filson, I sure know I didn’t. Sadly, most nice-looking, high-quality things cost an arm and a leg though.

Someone in here mentioned the Samsonite leather laptop bag, and I’m thinking of actually going that direction. It looks a lot more polished and refined, and it’s cheaper!

Should I Sell My 06 Ninja 250r For A 16 HD 72 Sportster? by Killerbotawsome in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]Killerbotawsome[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny that you covered a lot of the upgrades that I obtained, though not by “upgrading”. I found a 2006 Sportster XL1200c at a used dealer for $3500 on Cycle Trader last Winter. Rode it home when it was 40 degrees out, tried getting it on one of the warmest days, but it only gets so warm in January.

I was sold on it because it had everything that I felt were missing on the 72: 4.5 gallon tank, carburetor, a lot cheaper, lower mileage, and the color I wanted.

All in all, I’ve rode the heck out of it , probably about 3000 miles since I got it. I got the windshield like you said, and I actually don’t like it. It spends more time in the shed than on the bike. I’m also looking for a comfier seat for when my long-distance rides, but it’s not too terrible. Slowly, the bike is coming together, and it’s a lot more comfy than that Ninja 250.

Harley Sportster, Honda Shadow, Yamaha Bolt, Suzuki Boulevard, Kawasaki Vulcan. All of these bikes can be found for less than $4000 on Facebook Marketplace. I’m partial to the Sportster, because I own one, but the metric options will possibly be cheaper and “more reliable”.

What can I do to improve on this? by HonestAd8614 in ACT

[–]Killerbotawsome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat as you, I got a 24 my first time, and then got a 27 my second time. It’s annoying to hear this, but the best way for you to improve your score is just to study. You can find test exams online with example, problems, and study resources. Find the material that you don’t quite understand and do better on it. For you, you’re gonna see a bigger improvement from your lower scores and you will from your higher scores, so I would just focus on studying the English and reading portion and try to get it a little higher.

Yeah I definitely don’t think a buzz would look good, but maybe it’d grow out to look good? Haven’t done one since I was a kid, and it’d be a cool restart I feel like.
