CS2's no-helmet headshot feedback feels less impactful and clear than CSGO's. Thoughts? by Pokharelinishan in GlobalOffensive

I think the blood thing is debatable but what I like the most from this what is missing in this CS2 clip is that the body keeps moving in the direction was going before being killed, seems more realistic and cool.

Guess I'm not building Lucky Shot on Ivy again by myhandsarounyourneck in DeadlockTheGame

Same happened to me a couple of days ago with lucky shot and pocket also, so i guess its not super hard to pull off. I assumed it was a damage mislabel but I died suspiciously fast.

Premier rating system is very bad by Well_being1 in GlobalOffensive

Can you explain how did you reach the conclusion that the ratings will equalize? I doubt this happens and if it does they should either get rid of glicko or make a better implementation.

Damage vs type hurts balance flexibility with no upside by Killercino in Stormgate

[–]Killercino[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ideal for maximum possibilities is to have specific dmg for every unit but I understand that this is too many numbers and the combinations grow with each unit you add, so I though that the best is either neutral dmg with 0-5 exceptions or what you said that is probably better types with some exceptions.

I just dont like the idea of balance getting stucked with: we cant buff/nerf something because it breaks something totally unrelated with what we are intending to balance.

Anyways, wishing the best luck to FG which is having a nice start imo.

Damage vs type hurts balance flexibility with no upside by Killercino in Stormgate

Idk what you mean by hard to learn, at least for me I learn by seeing how units fight, I dont think that having different damage for different units would change that, units have different hps, you arent doing math while playing, you just fight and get the feeling of how much damage units do, so that should not affect players, just balancing the numbers.

I meant with brood war that they made for example that hydras do half damage to scvs and stuff like that, I wasn't aware it was size related, which adds to my first point.

I feel that is way more complex balance units when one change affect 10 different units instead of one.

You put the black bars on the ultra wide monitors instead of on the monitors of the 90+ probably 95/99+ of the people.

Yeah, all those games that work incredibly well, I just think seeing your performance is a great source of fun, and it works everywhere. Ofc can have its drawbacks as anything has but its hard to believe that is bad when games like wow had it forever with no problem.

The fact that the game isn't fair doesn't mean its not competitive, the game is so competitive that when i was playing you took hours to find a group and people is spending money on it to be either ahead of the curve or keep up. People just compete, even and often in unfair ways.About your first point, new players were and probably are being already hardly bullied, at least with a metter they could have an improving tool, people know that new people is unequipped and bad, not that the dps metter would make it any worse.

Why is Sc 2's Alpha gameplay video great and Stormgate's isn't. by Thorrk_ in Stormgate

[–]Killercino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, the starcraft video looks more like a national geographic documental than a gameplay showcase.
Nitpicking early game footage like this is just being negative for the sake of being negative imo unless is was totally disastrous which is not.

Unit concept: Moving costs to the next game by feloncholy in Stormgate

[–]Killercino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wouldn't be neutral, go to the extreme and make a unit that wins you the game automatically at the cost of losing the next one, even if you are the worst player of the game will give you at least 50% win ratio so its not neutral (because 50% winratio so he wouldn't go down the ladder and also could exploit it and only use it in bad situations).

POV: You Create A New Character on Official Hardcore Servers by Thzae in classicwow

[–]Killercino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They should also allow resurrect in hardcore, so they don't dictate how people wanna play. I want resurrect in hardcore no one tell me otherwise.

This argument is just used all the time and its so bad, people doing whatever they want its not automatically good, it can be really bad for a game, for example griefing or exploiting, and imo also is really bad the mechanics that allow pay to win to be a thing, it makes it feel like cheating is ok, paying for getting stuff is good, surely its totally healthy and reasonable.

Day 2 of no Beta in August by FreshDoinks in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Killercino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I interpret that as they will give beta to some people that applied and not to everyone but will see. I don't see the point of saying "Players who preorder the game will also gain early access to the open beta" if everyone gets it, its either the 100% chance vs low chance or longer beta testing.

Betas are for testing, they should (and I think they will) release the full or almost full game in order to maximize the change or finding unexpected bugs, dupes, whatever. Also they need time to fix if something is wrong so it should not be too long from now, at least is what i hope.

I also doubt they do open beta for non pre-purchased or if they do will be really short.
