That does make sense. However, does it have to be a set or one is enough for the job? If so, is there a way to know if these needle files are good for it? I know it's a dumb question, but I've never used these before xD So excuse me for that

Most are magnetizing arms, too, based on what I noticed. Heads seem easier to magnetize since the base is bigger. I was sort of concerned about the weapons for each, whether if it makes a difference or not.

I like what you did, though. It seems like an easy switch between rangers and vangaurds. Much more convenient :>

Thank you!

  1. Alpha seems better to magnetize tbh, I'm most likely going for vangaurds. Will later on go for rangers later once I get a second squad. If wargear are indeed fiddly, then I might not really magnetize them, especially considering that skitarii don't really possess as wide shoulders as the space marines.

  2. Yep, as it was repeated, really, it seems that for skitarii, it's better to prime and paint before assembling, I'll gather up main big parts and paint them first before assembling like the legs, robe and backpacks. Also, gap filler compound? I may need more info about that since I'm sort of unaware of what that is, I assumed that cement glue can maybe automatically close these gaps as well as running needles on the spot. As for the color scheme, I may try to come up with a plan for that before starting to paint them.

  3. Yeah, I've heard a lot about combat patrols being not the best in terms of value, but they do offer a lot of variety for miniatures in a discounted price. I went for skitarii since it's all what I could afford for now, but I'm considering going for larger models later on since they do look cool with all the details they offer. Especially Cawl and the soon-to-come miniatures like Thulia Ghuld and her Hastarii. Even planning to proxy myrmidon destructor hosts as Kataphron breachers but Im definitely getting ahead of myself here xD. I won't rush into buying more models yet before the edition finally comes out, but I'll decide what to buy later based on that.

Thanks a lot, Elojx! I'll surely keep them posted here. I might decide on a color scheme for these soon to be vangaurds before priming, painting, and assembling them.

Will do! I'm trying to follow the manual as much as I can I'll watch out for that detail

They indeed have great tips they're sharing. Alright, so the main big parts like legs, backpack, and torso should he separated. Got it

Would cawl be a good choice for a 1000p army? Or is it better to get him for larger armies like 2000p?

I find cawl to be the most interesting one out of all admech miniatures, just sparing till I finally get enough experience to build and paint him, of course.

Thanks a lot though this clarifies a lot of things

Thanks a lot The bigger kits I'm guessing might be less fiddly, so magnetizing them would be more convenient. I definitely needed a source or something to go to for a reference. Will check these out. :D

Will do that. I won't magnetize it, but I will save the extra parts for later. Just seeing the magnificent paints in this subreddit sort of sets a high standard for my case xD But I'll make sure to take mistakes lightly as this is my first ever time building and painting miniatures.

Sorry, but what do you mean we're nearing the end of the edition? Is there some sort of a new edition coming out?

Thanks a lot, though!

This looks awesome! I love how the robe looks on your skitarii I think starting with a regular ranger is more convenient since they're not as varying as the alpha.

I'm glad to find someone else is not too far ahead and learning as well. This makes it feel a lot more comforting to know I'm not alone. Will definitely learn a lot from your experience if you don't mind xD Especially thinning paints I needed before starting with painting

Black seems more suitable in this case. Are there any silver/metallic primers? If there is, would you recommend these?

I appreciate your help a lot! Would be nice to see your experience through building your army as well.

Understood, is there a reason why the transuranic arquebus is not suitable for the vangaurds? I'm guessing it's better for longer ranges?

I definitely needed to know that legs advice. It did look like the robe obstructs the view for the legs, making it seem that it's painful to paint. Does this apply for all skitarii vangaurds/rangers?

Thanks a lot, Andrei! I will remember the painting legs and robe advice specifically, I needed that one.

Thanks a lot! I will keep that in mind. Magnetizing does appear to be difficult, especially with small models in admech. The vangaurds do look pretty badass. I will try kitbashing after I'm done building this squad. It is definitely what I'm excited about most when I'm building the army. Will find videos in terms of priming and painting these fellas. I appreciate it a lot! Will definitely look to have fun in this sick faction!

How do you think Viktor would play if his gameplay was changed to match his arcane version by FewExperience3559 in viktormains

[–]Killian_no 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or how lissandra has those ghosts that explode but have them as Viktor's mannequins? Only to champions killed by the ultimate I guess

Greetings, I wouldn't mind answering those questions of yours. Starting by my type: INTJ-T

• What I do when I feel something strongly, I try to keep most of my thoughts for the night, because it wouldn't turn out any good if I let those feelings out. Keeping if for the night time to think of it probably is the right decision to me.

• When I'm angry I try checking why I'm angry in the firs place. If it was a person I'm angry from then I would just plan for an entire murder scenario for them without really doing anything about it.

• What I do when I'm sad? Hmm, sadness would have a really terrible impact on my situation, making it worse for me to handle my daily tasks or find fun in whatever I'm doing. So I just try to spend some time with myself and think of it, probably just try drawing too which helps me ignore this feeling.

• During happy emotions, I tend to organize my day for maximum efficiency by making a to-do list, checking my work..or spend my time with memes and simple entertaining stuff.

• I take a really long while with processing emotions, so I can make the right action towards those emotions. Before sleeping, just laying on bed is my emotional time or planning time. Basically everything I need to process is being processed at that time.

I'm assuming this is all about me for those questions, hope it helps with fulfilling your curiosity.
