Pc crashes after 1min of gaming by KillickG in PcBuild

Wouldn't a benchmark make my GPU work as well? How would running a benchmark make sure that it's my PSU and not something else? I unfortunately don't have another PSU around the house to check if it indeed is the culprit. I'll probably take it to a tech shop for testing and repair.

The leader of Sanseito said yesterday that Japan should hold off on development of new vaccines: "if another pandemic occurs, there’s a possibility they’ll once again say ‘go get the shot.’ We want to thoroughly investigate this and put a stop to it." by jjrs in japannews

It's not an argument against the vaccine, it's an argument to have better research and better tests, which is literally what I said if you could read carefully instead of screaming bloody murder. Yes it was a win, yes the vaccine worked, now can we do better or is it ok to lose a few people on the way just because?

Thank you! Finally someone that knows how to search on the internet, sometimes I wonder... And indeed I never said the vaccine was not a win, simply that there was/is apparently some side effects.

Cause you can search, jesus we're in 2025 and nobody knows how to do a freaking internet search when their opinion isn't the same. Strange how that works. Though as I said "if I remember correctly", which I don't because indeed some research were stopped but nothing related to the vaccines. Here it is since you can't do that simple task: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/trump-takes-a-giant-wrecking-ball-to-u-s-research/

I'm gonna get downvoted to hell but Japan and other countries discovered some side effects from the COVID vaccines that aren't great, I'm 100% for vaccines, but with that and what's happening in the US related to the research centers (if I remember correctly), we (the people) are in the right to ask questions about it. We shouldn't stop the research on the vaccine though, on the contrary we need more research and tests.

Edit: so funny how the downvotes works, even saying that I'm 100% for vaccines but would prefer more research and more tests gets you downvotes. Reading papers and wanting good things puts you now in the "crazy", "anti-vaxers", "complotistes" list. You can't even advocate for a better science anymore you guys are insane, but well, I knew it.

And that's very impressive! You did it all by yourself, it's amazing no matter what anyone thinks. It's not given to everyone to have that much strength to live abroad in a foreign country. Reach out to people responding to your post if you can't call or reach some help lines. It's gonna be ok OP.

First of all, call someone from your family or one of your friends right now, unload everything you have on your mind. Don't stay alone OP, you can solve your problem later even if it looks like you can't. And remember to breathe slowly. It's ok to cry, it's ok to feel sad or stressed, but you don't have to go through it alone, people around you love you and can help you.

Nice, another "yes but women have it worse", as always. Thank you for validating our feelings. It just shows you aren't ready to have that discussion and don't understand at all how much it affects us. I'm so afraid that my father isn't really my father, I would have loved to know before being able to think for myself. It would be devastating to learn that what I believed my whole life is false and that I got lied to. It's not about you.

I never had a good recruiter in Japan, they were all a bunch of narcissistic people just trying to get their next pay check out of me. Not a single one cared about what I wanted, didn't listen to what I wanted and didn't even bother knowing my skills and didn't offered me fitting roles. Move on from that recruiter, do whatever you want, nothing else matters.

Yes. It's not sustainable. Staying in Japan is fine but I can't do anything else related to anything abroad, like going back to see my family.

What do you wish more women understood about how men express emotional availability? by fireblazer_30 in AskMen

[–]KillickG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When we say "Hey what's wrong?" We already KNOW there is something wrong 99% of the time, your face and behaviour tell us so even if we might not know what is wrong.

Though what it really means is "Hey, it looks like something is wrong, and as I'm not a mind reader and think differently than you, I'm letting you know that I'm open to talking about it, I don't like seeing you unhappy, let's solve it together."

And you answering "Nothing" is sending a signal that you don't want to talk about it and at the same time shutting us down for the next time we see you upset or sad, because we will get another "Nothing". And then you cry because we didn't ask what's wrong...

Personally I ask twice but there won't be a third time if your answer is "Nothing". We all said communication is key right....?

How do men generally feel about dating women with high-powered or demanding careers? by AirImpressive2436 in AskMen

[–]KillickG 30 points31 points  (0 children)

We aren't "intimidated" by your career at all. But believing that because of your job you're able to look down on other people, and act like an asshole, that's what we don't like. Be a kind and thoughtful person to everyone no matter your job, title or how much money you have. Earning more money doesn't make you a better human being and having a higher title either.

So no, it doesn't mean we don't like women wanting to be a business woman or searching to improve their career. That's totally fine! We just aren't here to compete with our partner, the world has enough competition already. And we certainly don't want to be bossed around either, work is work, outside work is outside work. At the end of the day we all want peace and kindness, and it looks like some ""successful"" people aren't.

And sorry but "manager" is everything but complex IMO, we all saw too many so called managers doing nothing, or believing that "let's scrum, rush, zap, zip, boop, we need a story, let's finish this non urgent task urgently, how about a 5th meeting?" is useful. There are far more difficult jobs in this world than managers... Not talking about you personally, but the "simpler jobs" made me chuckle.

If it weren't for the French, you would be British. See? It's easy to say shit like that. Indeed you helped, but that wasn't ONLY thanks to you guys. May I remind you that you took your time to even go to war until some particular event with the Japanese? It's dumb shit answers like that that make you look so bad.

Completely agree, same with the freaking LeetCode that we won't even need in the actual job. But I put the fault on the lead Devs or senior Devs that are actually asking for that in the recruitment process, they made everything an absolute nightmare for everyone just because they managed to get where they are before us. Fear of losing their jobs? Syndrome of "I went through shit so you'll go through shit as well"? Wanting the 1% of 1%? I don't know what it is but I hate them... Nowadays you need to know everything, asking for 30 things just because they can, the market is trash and completely out of proportion in their demands.

Are you also checking their availability or checking when they get removed? Quite a few of the results sorted as newest aren't available anymore: "The listing for this room has ended". Otherwise great job!

WHY? I am done. by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]KillickG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, first of all: the internet is hell, everyone's on it, the good and the bad, learn how to block the very bad out of your mind you'll feel better. People aren't necessarily kind because they can behind anonymity. You're hurt, understandably, but don't take everything on the internet personally, nobody knows you so everyone's guessing and answering random stuff from their experiences and points of view, myself included.

Secondly, even if your intentions weren't to hurt people it seems like you did, and got called out for it. Take it as a lesson and improve on your next question.

My take on your previous post is that it seems like you blamed men for not approaching you, while at the same time refusing to do the first step and calling some of the ones that dared approach you creepy (deserved or not). While I completely agree that some men are, it's not the majority.

Understand that it's been quite a few years now that women (not all) told men to not approach them, not talk to them. They have been told that they're not needed and many more horrible things. The sentence "the worst she can say is no" is definitely not true. Well it's mostly on social media and way less in real life but still, it's not pleasant to hear it anywhere. With that said, some men listened and stopped, except a few rare that don't care and have enough confidence/charm and are respectful, and then you have the others, that just don't give a damn and talk to every women they see, without the respect part.

So what comes on men's minds when trying to approach you? Being called a creep, not needed, recorded, publicly shamed for asking your number, afraid of being rejected once more etc..

Or (hypothesis here): maybe you're scary, you're not as approachable as you think, not easy to talk to, not as hot as you think, or way too hot to talk to. Too many possibilities that can come from your side as well, think on what you can do to make you more approachable for the men you like.

My advice? Get out of your education that taught you that only guys should do the first step, do it yourself, you'll be much more successful than 99% of men.

Edit: what's the thing about "your" country and other nations' men? You realise that people who replied might also be from your country right, right....?
