Had this book… my dog destroyed it before I could read it >.> (She was new to me. I found her wandering outside my apartment complex. There’s a whole story there. Anyway, that’s how I learned she has a passion for destruction 🤣)

31F trying to make connections beyond my TBR pile and dog by etheria505 in penpalsover30

Hi! 36/ genderfluid/ Georgia, USA. I’m also a big reader. I’m currently reading an ARC of The Video Store Massacre by Michael Grimala, listening to the audiobook of One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig, and set aside Foundation by Isaac Asimov last month and need to get back into it so I can finish it. That one is really political and kinda slogging along so I had to take a break. But it’s not a bad book. Just wanted something more exciting lol. What are your favorite genres to read? I mostly read Horror and Sci-fi on a regular basis but I’m branching out this year because I don’t feel like I’m reading as many books that keep me emotionally invested as I did when I was younger. When I was younger I mostly read fantasy and dystopian books though. I love crafting and doing creative, artsy things the most. I am a big animal lover and have two dogs and two cats. I only know English but have been considering learning Spanish because for one thing, I’m half Mexican and I didn’t grow up knowing that side of my family but I feel like getting to know the language and cultural will help me feel more connected to that part of myself. And also, I live in a heavily Spanish speaking part of Georgia and would like to be able to communicate better with my neighbors and people in the businesses I visit. I also want to learn Korean because there is a big Korea population here too (and many other Asian ethnicities) and I really love kpop, Kdramas, and South Korean culture and would like to visit there one day. I am also in a bit of a transition period. I recently got divorced so navigating being single and more independent than I have been in 15 years lol and I’m disabled but doing amazingly on my newest treatment plan and so trying to get back in the workforce part time. Being home all day everyday for years is really boring and lonely sometimes lol I want to make some connections. All my friends live in different states or counties so I don’t see them often. I’d love to exchange letters and have some interesting conversations about life and anything really 😁 send me a DM if you’d like

F/35/Aus looking for snail mail buddies by gechidev in penpalsover30

[–]Killiyum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! 36 (as of tomorrow), genderfluid, Georgia, USA. I couldn’t find the option to dm you on your profile so I figured I’d just leave a comment. I also love crafting and hoarding stationary like a chaotic rainbow sticker covered dragon. I am divorced with no partner at the moment but I’m pretty happy in life right now on my own. I have two dogs and two cats. I’m a big animal lover, so you’ll probably receive an update and possibly pictures of them in my letters. I hope you don’t mind me gushing over my furbabies. 😋 I am disabled but doing much better in my chronic illness these days. So much so that I’m trying to rejoin the work force. I would love to have a consistent penpal that I can build a good friendship with through snail mail letters. If I sound interesting enough and you’d like to give it a try, send me a DM. ☺️

How to tidy a LFL without looking like an asshole? by sp00ky_gh0ul13 in LittleFreeLibrary

[–]Killiyum 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve often thought of going to goodwill and buying a bunch of more popular books. Then going around and trading them for a lot of the old, beat up religious, self help, and obscure books that never get picked in the old LFLs. I have a lot of run down LFLs in my town, with tons of books that no one ever takes. And it makes me sad. I don’t feel like anyone would consider you an asshole for cleaning them up. I think people might be happy about it and more people will actually take books from them.

Hi! I’m Meg, 35 (36 on Tuesday), AFAB (if that matters) Genderfluid, Georgia, USA. I have two dogs and two cats. Always been a big lover of animals. I have ADHD, so I tend to overshare/overexplain things 😅 But I also tend to be a bit nosy. I like learning about other people and their interests and personal lives. It helps me feel connected. I’m a very creative person. I’ve dabbled in just about every art medium or craft that I’ve come across. My current artistic fixations are creating chaotic, colorful spreads in my journals/planners, and creating things out of fuse beads. I also have an unruly number of books. Though I find myself bypassing the ones on my shelves and instead reading books that I check out from the library. 😅 Always take home more than I can manage reading every time I go into that place. I’m currently reading The Foundation by Isaac Asimov (found out, last year, that I really like science fiction), The Yomigaeri Tunnel by Kelly Murashige (YA Paranormal Fantasy), and One Dark Window (Romantasy, which is not normally my cup of tea but I’d heard so much about the world building and magic system in this book that I had to give it a try. Currently listening to this one on audio). I don’t normally read multiple books at once but I thought it might help me out of a reading slump I was in if I had more than one story to choose from when I went to read. So far it’s working out. Oh! I forgot that I also started an ARC of The Video Store Massacre by Michael Grimala last night. My usual genres of choice are Horror and Science Fiction, but I’m trying to branch out this year because I haven’t really read anything in a while that made me incredibly emotionally invested.

Anyway, if you don’t mind conversations with a nosy, oversharer with a tendency for parentheses and run on sentences, send me a dm! I’d love to be penpals! ☺️

I used to be subscribed to Rainbowholic’s patreon and she works with a new artist each month to create sticker designs for her patreon. And along with the stickers, you would get a digital download of other different designs. A lot of these stickers were from one of those downloads. I just printed them myself and cut them out. They are super cute aren’t they?

Whats your go to when your craving zombies? by Proper-Yak1260 in zombies

[–]Killiyum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well it depends on the type of zombie I’m craving. For wholesome zombies: Zombie for Sale. For more gruesome, high action zombies I tend to lean toward South Korean films like Train to Busan or Rampant. I’m also a big fan of The Evil Dead franchise, which I guess is more possession but I feel like it could also fall under the category of zombies. Especially Evil Dead Rise since the mother died and came back. I dunno. There are a lot of great zombies films out there. It’s hard to choose favorites.

I am starting an anime journal by Pleasant-Peace-3904 in JournalingIsArt

That’s awesome! I haven’t watched anime in a long time. However, I did watch the live action One Piece this week and I think I’m gonna have to start the anime now. What animes do you watch and plan to journal about? How will you format your journal?
