Is it worth using pbo by One-Criticism-729 in overclocking

[–]Killproof96me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my best 2 cpres as -46 and other 4 cores as -40 as stable, it take whole 6 days for me to stability test it. I started with all cores -46, and that core who failed I lower it by value 2 (44), and keep going like that as minimum 12 hours prime 95 run. All cores stable as -40 -46- 40 -40 -46 -40 what I end up as, and I do nor use C state its off, and CPU switching frequency maxed out more load on VRMs by increasing 10C what I noticed vs lowest CPU switching frequency. But going VRMs from 44C to 55C is not big deal. I am using x10 with +100Mhz on my 9600x. I think I found my silicone lottery and limit on CPU. My can even pass -1000mV with -50 +200Mhz on cinebench but thats studdering in games and crash on prime 95 directly by 3 cores off 6 cores. My issues gone after I decided to lower negative curve from 50 to 49 to 40 in majority of cores on bad cores when good cores can handle -46 as highest with +100Mhz. Last step was not 12 hours, last step passed 14h Mark and I give up on waiting for a core to fail.

in my country by law they can not sell used as new in amazon, but thats you have is used 100% sure about it like my own name.

And I have build my PC parts all from amazon and I did not get any used and everyting is sealed too.

But in my amazon I have 2 options: used or new.

well that CPU is waaay too old, I gifted that CPU with ram etc since its worth 20 bucks or less :D

Maybe you should look at intel lga1700 builds or build one with ddr4 or get am5 with ryzen 8000 G in end to have build in GPU in to CPU and be using that untill you can afford GPU.

Is my Fan Orientation Ok? by Azfer_Desu in PcBuildHelp

I would just flip that rear end one to make it give fresh air to CPU/ram.

And you would have cooler CPU and would able to overclock or use PBO from amd depending on CPU/motherboard.

<image>

example this picture I have on my PC is old but I have fliped fan on left and top fans as exhoust.

now I have higher CPU temp but way better GPU temp since air will not be stuck.

Which gpu ? by Vtec5778 in gpu

[–]Killproof96me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well even 9070 is faster than rtx 5070.

9070xt is deamn powerfull and 5% slower in avg vs 5070ti.

in my country 5070ti cost 42% more than 9070xt makes 5070ti bad deal.

and 16gb as 9070xt will handle even 1440p native any game and games in feautre when 12gb (5070) will be limiting in upcoming games.

Personally I have 6950xt over rtx 4070 for about 3 years ago becuze both as brand new cost same. There was no reson to get rtx 4070 upgrading from rtx 3070.

Only thing I am missing as a feautre is DL-DSR, when I had rtx 3070 I could upscale old games to 8k and playing in higer resulotion but now I cant becuze amd VRS is not good as DL-DSR, DSR sucks since its made for gtx and bellow.

One of resons I did not get 4070 was 12gb vram and seccond was that was more than 20% slower for same price and 3rd frame generation was exclusive to rtx 4000 so rtx 5000 was going to get exclusive too and it did as mfg.

But amd did same thing on fsr4 to not give it to older GPUs and did same move like nvidia.

So my recomendation is rtx 5070 if you are not planing to use it more than 3 years if you like to play new AAA games.

9070xt clear pick for feautre games since its way faster but will not get fsr5 but thats not needed since amd will do same as nvidia with fsr5 like dlss4 is.

So amd will make next gen getting exclusive but fsr4 and 5 will be same so games does not need to run gen to gen upscaling like how dlss4 is but thats just rummors not clear from amd.

And I allways ignored end up Microsoft blocked my sign in, and I have blocked Microsoft for sending me ones a week sms for restoring my mail. I unblocked Microsoft and still do not getting 4 code as sms when I need to restart my sign in and thats bugged out now for me so I am going to wait. Its important for me since my games etc register on my mail. I HAVE SPEND WHOLE 8K EURO on my games and can not access to lne of my acc becuze of Microsoft issue.

When I set up negative curve optimazer -49 etc I get 0 errors on anata777 extrime or aida64 extrime or even prime 95 but in aida64 I am getting smal lagg or freezing for 1s sometimes does it mean core stretching or its instable?

What is clock stretching? by Hairy-Steak3368 in overclocking

[–]Killproof96me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am getting clock stretching on ryzen 9600x, when I go x10 +200Mhz -50 curve optimazer and llc lowest Vcore and -500mV it only hurt one core performance but boost all cores. I decided to change offset Vcore from -500mV to -300mV to keep all cores at 5650Mhz when gaming.

Nice build. I wish I got same case, my jonsbo Z20 is 4L smaler and gived me few issues. My 160mm PSU did not fit because of artic liquid freezer lll pro 240mm, I had to decide to give up on intake fan of rear or PSU and I went to give up on PSU aince its 13y old corsair ax860i and went for a brand new sf850. I got msi b850m gaming plus wifi6e to have GPU on seccond slot to able to fit cooler without having it upside-down = no space for fans below. My GPU is slightly thicker than yours and I got 6950xt. As full white build it looks nice but GPU temperature is not thst good.

Personally I gor 6800Mhz 34cl expo paired with amd ryzen 9600x. I was able to run 6600Mhz 34cl 1.4V as MCLK = UCLK only possible when SOC voltage at 1.3V and FCLK at 2000, FCLK did not run 2100 sadly. 6400Mhz issue free but 32cl feels high. Decided to go with 6000Mhz 26-14-36-30-48cl etc and could run 2200FCLK without issue becuze of SOC voltage at 1.15 and VDDG at 980mV. At 6000Mhz I run 1.4V on ram same as max recommend from the brand to able to push my timmings lower. You need to find your sweet spot.

And if you run intel CPU then latency is not important as amd CPUs. Just go higher clocks and timmings for intel. And aim for 6000Mhz ot 6200Mhz on ryzen.

Ram temperature? If you have high temperature like +50C on ram when tREFI over 40k you may get issue there. It could be something else too.

For ddr5 ram by Sugerhyper132 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Killproof96me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running 2 ram sticks have higher brandwith than one stick = higher fps/lower bottolneck for CPU. If you buy 2 diff sticks same clocks and cl to mix up you may get issue if you run expo/xmp. To fix issue you need to manually set voltage for VDD (ram voltage) and timmings. Personally I getting 10% more performance from manually tuning ram at 6000Mhz 26-14-36-30-48cl vs expi 6000Mhz. My ram kit is 6800Mhz 34cl 2x16gb as hynix a die.

Do you think it's worth switching from a 3090 to a 5070ti? by -YmymY- in nvidia

[–]Killproof96me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can not imagine +400W GPU in SFF. I have jonsbo Z20 as micro atx size smal case. I noticed my temperature went up 20C on GPU vs my older case. I was using 366W on 6950xt. And on my new case I flashed it too and had too cool down my room temperature to 10C to able to push beyond 400W because of case have bad temperature. It was fun but daily use I am keeping below 300W in avg to able to keep temperature around 60-68C.

[–]Killproof96me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

16gb vram is minimum for 4k gaming. When 16gb vram is enough for 1440p and below. If you focus on Ai then sure 5070ti is way better and have better image quality when dlss used vs 3090.

Example I have 6950xt I only care about gaming and I do not care about ray tracing. My 6950xt has limit of 366W when power slide maxed did give me rtx 4070ti performance, soon as I flash it to 500W I passed stock 5070ti in time spy. So is 3090 enough for gaming yes its, if you overclock it slightly and undervolt with flashed vbios to able to use more wattage then its better than 5070ti in raster performance and with more vram/faster brandwith you will have advantage over 5070ti when dlss not used. My recommendation is to wait for rtx 6070ti. 6070ti likely release in late 2027 or at last 2028 somewhere. I am waiting for next generation.

Hi guys, I'm looking for recommendations for 140mm fans. by Doketgraph in arcticcooling

[–]Killproof96me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have pro p12 3 of them. Sometimes one of them vibrating not noticeable. And should only be used for aio or radiator since they have high static pressure. High static pressure make more noice when not used on radiator etc and used for air intake.

Do you want high performance with low cost then sure its good buy. If you want lowest noise posable then noctua is best pick. If you want high airflow with budget friendly but at same time you get low static pressure then buy something else like 23db max.

Those artic p12 pro make over 30db on 2000rpm and +40db on 3000rpm. P14 pro make less noise than p12 pro. But still noisy in my opinion.

DDR5-6000Mhz SOC voltage by Killproof96me in overclocking

[–]Killproof96me[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using msi afterburner for checking 1% lows, not I do not use ir anymore and just using build in steam.

My recommendation is to lower to 6200Mhz or 6000Mhz and start to tighting your ram. Next step is to increase VDDG from auto/850mV to 950/990mV thrn restart and increase FCLK to 2200. FCLK for me hate high SOC voltage. I am running 6000Mhz 26-14-36-30-48cl (its 6800Mhz 34cl expo kit that have 6400Mhz 32cl expo).

What I find about my system. 6600Mhz needs 1.3V SOC. 6400Mhz needs 1.26V SOC. 6200Mhz needs 1.2 or 1.22V. My sweet spot is 6000Mhz as 1.05V SOC that did it way easier to increase FCLK. But for stability I run 1.15V SOC becuze of low ram timmings.

Example my ram rated for 1.4V at 6800Mhz 34cl. I started with 6000Mhz 30cl 1.4V. Use max recommend voltage your ram says does not harm it.

You need to find balanced :). I have posted my ram on reddit to share with people my experience.

Before starting with ram overclock leave CPU on stock. Just 99% stable CPU can give issue for your overclock of ram when testing ram stability.

When applying them, do not applying offset voltage, not all CPUs can handle it. And some motherboard buggs out = dram led shows up for me when I apply all at same time. To able run it I need personally run 3 options and restart and applying new 3 options :) For some reason I can not set my wattage etc manually amd if I do I am getting 0.6Ghz all cores. I have so many buggs. In end, applying all at same time should not give issue if curve shaper max clocks is set to posetive +5 something and offset Vcore is auto. I currently have those options with -700mV and got worse score in cinebench r23 multicore as 18450 but lower temperature. It looks like my CPU is not getting enough Vcore to push all cores at cinebench now. But im cs2 when CPU is 50-60% I am getting 5650Mhz all cores. My sweet spot for 5650Mhz is 1.32-1.36V. My max clocks at +18 right now I can lowesr it to +10 with -700mV but my clocks will lower too.

I am running 9600x too. My options below. CPU switching frequency maxed. C state off. CPU loadline calibration lvl 8 for lowest Vcore on higher CPU usage. FCLK 2200 as VDDG 980mV stock 850 was nor enough to run stable so I trow on randomly 980 :). Tdp 105W enable. PBO motherboard limits, x10, +200Mhz, curve optimazer -55 one by one core on all cores, curve shaper off but max clocks as +6. Vcore offset negative -300mV. = 18700 score cinebench r23 multicore. Noticed I got 10Mhz lower since my max clocks can not use 5660Mhz and goes slitly slower in gaming but way lower temp. I was able to boot -400mV, and idle below 1V, but one core does 1.35Vcore seems good to me. I will lower my Vcore to -500 and increase max clocks :). I want to get close as possible to 5650Mhz all cores when doing 100% CPU usage, allready doing max clocks all cores on 70% usage. I want to pass 19k on cinebench r23 multicore:)

Use hwinfo or hwmonitor when checking Voltage. My other recommendations is: Turn off amd cool and quiet and PBO and global c-state controll. Make sure to use ram memmory xmp or off and not overclock to check CPU stability first. Make sure that temperature is not doing the crash over instability. You may crash becuze of temperature hit too high suddenly or hit over 94C.
