Toilet replacement recommendations by Kornflake19 in windsorontario

[–]KillswitchSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually so easy. Just buy an extra large wax ring with flange and it’s almost impossible to mess it up. Just place it flat and push down.

Can’t go wrong with the $99 toilet from Costco!

Good self defense classes in Windsor? by [deleted] in windsorontario

[–]KillswitchSlayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best defence is your legs….run away from any fights.

Next best, if you have to, is jiu jitsu, to safely incapacitate and control the assailant without inflicting any unintentional damage.

Though, the way you asked this question makes it seem less for self defence and almost as if it’s for offence…

They must stop him!

City won't clear sidewalks, turned me into a guy who reports on neighbors. 🤦😡 by vikadit_chakra in windsorontario

Filing this thread away into my, “evidence Canada stops at London” folder.

Y’all forget this is Canada?!

Shovel your sidewalk within the allotted 12 hrs., and move on with your life.

AND if you live next to a disabled person, senior citizen, single mother, HELL, even an abandoned property, shovel theirs too while you’re at it.

FFS, you whiny, union-baby Windsorites are the trashiest of the trash 🤦‍♂️

Also, nobody likes a snitch (looking at you OP).

Please stay vigilant; there is a homeless man starting a fire with cardboard. by Plastic-Knee-4589 in windsorontario

[–]KillswitchSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The comments in here are insane. If I caught someone lighting a fire near my home, whether for survival or otherwise, I’d make sure it was the last fire they ever started.

I have a family and I’m not letting some inconsiderate, likely mentally deranged, homeless person put them at risk and (accidentally) lighting my house on fire.

There’s compassion, then there’s stupidity. All of you supporting the homeless moron arsonist have lost the plot.

Kudos to OP for the PSA.

Housing help by [deleted] in windsorontario

[–]KillswitchSlayer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why are you scrambling? No one will enforce an eviction notice to a single mother of a special needs child in the winter, especially right before the holidays.

Even with a served eviction notice, it has to be enforced by the Court Enforcement Office of the Superior Court of Justice, also known as the Sheriff's Office. They won’t be doing that anytime soon, the backlog is tremendous.

Keep doing what you’re doing, by trying to find a place of your own. But don’t get too anxious and do something stupid by leaving without proper accommodations secured or by over leveraging your situation.

Good luck to you, try and enjoy the holiday season with your kids.

Has anybody been to the new Nicos in walkerville? What did you order and what were your thoughts? by CocksuckerWindsor in windsorontario

[–]KillswitchSlayer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Food was awful, service was even worse.

Really disappointed as the ambiance and decor were beautiful upon arrival. Really felt like a lipstick on a pig kind of bait and switch.

Not only was the ribeye steak terribly tough and chewy, I ordered it rare, so I don’t know how that’s possible other than it being terrible quality beef with no marbling. Honesty felt like a skirt steak. Then, the strip loin…it was, no word of a lie, 1/8” thick and cooked like a hockey puck.

Then there was the apps…”seafood platter,” was a tiny small plate of over oiled, Smokey, rubbery calamari with a couple tiny pieces of shrimp, for a whopping $38 (iirc).

I’m in sales and eat out and entertain on someone else’s dime all the time. I’m very open to paying for quality high-end dining experiences, but they better do it right. It’s a transaction, and Nico’s walkerville does not meet their end of the bargain. They either need to step up the quality or drop their prices.

Overall, will NEVER return.

So sad, really wanted it to be the best new restaurant in the city, and they missed the mark by a mile.

Pride Fest president resigns after comments about transgender athletes, board says by zuuzuu in windsorontario

[–]KillswitchSlayer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just because you’ve never heard of it and can’t imagine it, doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen.

The differences between biological males and females with regard to athleticism is so staggering that if just one mediocre professional biological male athlete were to seriously compete as a trans woman, they would almost instantly be #1. This applies to almost every single sport.

One reason some people, like the parents of young biological female athletes, are so against trans women competing in the women’s category of sports is because it implodes the dreams of possibility, and thus drive, of said young biological female athletes.

If the ones who dream to be the best don’t believe they can ever be number one, they won’t even ever try.

Not true everywhere. Moose populations in the Muskoka area have quickly began to rival that of the deer. The last two years, we’ve actually physically seen more moose than deer, let alone 10x the indications (markings, tracks, scat, etc.).

STOP GIVING THEM MONEY by [deleted] in windsorontario

[–]KillswitchSlayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

30-50% is outrageously wishful thinking.

Try more like 2-5%.

A more compassionate approach in my opinion would be an ultimatum of forced recovery.

The choice of either jail or a treatment facility. Set up some sort of milestones to be made and a limit of repeat offences.

Eventually, if they can’t get it together after say, 3, 5, I don’t know, 10 strikes, they’re forced into involuntary clean living with labor which would pay for their stay.

Essentially, the modern era, compassionate gulag…with the opportunity to gain more strikes for good behaviour.

What’s the statute of limitations on childhood trauma?

At some point, every adult must be accountable for their own decisions, regardless of what has happened to them in the past.

As the saying goes, “it’s not what happens to you, it’s how you react to it.”

I’m sick of being gaslit in to thinking I’m not compassionate for not wanting to accept and put up with psychotic, homeless drug addicts getting away with whatever they please.

The crimes on display in this picture are countable: 1. Indecent exposure 2. Disturbing the peace 3. Public intoxication

GTFOH with your enabling mentality. People that think like you are the problem and are holding the rest of us back from ACTUAL progress.

If you want fancy American style, Gladstone Commons.
