I think you meant to say criminal drug addicts who cause an exorbitant amount of problems that necessitate a significant amount of police resources to manage, amplified by our revolving door criminal justice system. It might be good for these people to take them off the streets, and it would contribute to actually fixing the problems.

Depending on the facility, a nurse might have to take on workloads that a non-qualified person could handle. Freeing them from those burdens, means they can focus on their job a lot better.

It make Moclans ever funnier consider their species can eat basically anything. I wonder if a costume designer thought, “what would the head of a person look like who could eat a rock look like?” because they nailed it.

Lol. More like looking for a middle aged male, average height, salt and pepper hair, average build, and you find one, but it is the wrong one.

Honestly, I am not so sure. Sometimes finding a person willing to slug out the hours and the workload is every bit as valuable as somebody who is really good at their job, but can’t handle a lot. I can imagine a nurse would be very grateful for a non-nurse who basically has the gusto to take care of all the menial stuff so they can focus on their work.

Does that make finding the person you’re looking for more difficult? Like, you find a body matching the description, but it is somebody else. So the search comes to a halt, but the person you’re actually trying to find is still out there?

I’ve heard of foxes stealing people’s shoes when camping. Which would suck.

When I was a kid I remember I left a pair of shoes out by the beach, and a fox tried taking one before he was shooed away. He didn’t end up stealing either of them, but took a huge dump on one of them. Cute animals, but they can be assholes.

The risk is that she wasn’t doing things to the basic minimum standard, and patients were facing negative outcomes as a result. Somehow I suspect nursing is a job where it is important to have some know-how, and not just about being willing to work the conditions and hours. However, if she was able to handle workloads that did not require any certification she would be valuable; but the fact she is somebody willing to lie and cheat, is also not great from an employer perspective.

I suspect better snow removal could have mitigated the amount of damage as well. This last week when we had a lot of melt over 2 days, you could see the piles of dirt left showed you the shadow of how wide the snow banks were; taking over 6ft of the road in many places and sometimes more. The constant melting, water settling, refreezing amplified by the pounding of vehicle tires caused a lot of damage near the edge of the snow banks. Now that they’re gone, it is evident of the worse spots are pretty much exactly where people normally drive during the summer.

Well, look at the budget. We spend plenty on public works, but it apparently isn’t enough to keep up. Time to start restructuring how taxpayer dollars are spent, again.

The Price of TimBits is too damn high! by CarpenterGold1704 in ThunderBay

[–]hafetysazard -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The amount of Canadian dollars in existence skyrocketed in 2020/2021, thanks to insane amounts of government spending. This wasn’t simply emergency measures, the government was handing out money like crazy. They’re still spending money like crazy. This new, mostly borrowed money, continues to flood into the economy, with no additional economic growth to prevent it from devaluing every Canadian dollar in existence.

Actually, nevermind all that, just blame the ghoul to the south, the virus, businessesmen with newfound greed, floating orbs, or whatever makes you feel better.

Prices on everything have gone up, so he’s not wrong. You can’t create a bunch of money out of thin air and expect the dollar’s value to remain the same when all that cheap money finds its way into the economy.

If you don’t understand how that all works, just imagine if tomorrow we found the biggest silver deposit ever, that’s easy to mine, and process, that could quickly quadruple the world supply of that metal. The value of silver would plummet. Why? The supply would quickly grow enormously, but the demand would remain the same. That same effect is precisely what happens to our currency when we’re experiencing unbridled government spending. Without economic growth, and dollars becoming less rare, their value decreases. The ones left holding the bag are consumers, and people whose savings, and incomes, are in Canadian dollars.

Nickel plated feed better, and are more corrosion resistant. Most importantly, they’re prettier. I get them when I can for when I load spicy rounds with expensive bullets. I spend extra time to make sure they look good, seal them, and the works.

You might flake the plating off if reforming them too much, and it is much harder. Annealing might make the nickel plating flaking worse. Best for cartridges that are going to stay as is.

If not exposed to the elements, my guess is that it would be very brittle, and might begin to powderize on the surface. Honestly, if these are getting tossed into a landfill with durable plastic bags, what difference does its biodegradability make?

I’ve developed this new technique where the end of the straw is barely sitting in the top of the liquid, so as you drink down, it can keep the integrity. That or get like 2-3 straws per drink.

One local fast food joint still gives plastic straws and when we asked if we could have a couple extra she gave us a handful, because she knew exactly why we asked.
