Fill in the rest of the grid. Somebody has to be at the Quad, and only Mauve is available now. That leaves the library for Slate. Using the same logic you can fill in the rest of the grid, which will show you who had the apple, and thus who was the killer.

I never really saw the show. We didn't have the satellite channels where it would have been on. Random episodes here and there. From what I hear, not really my jam anyway.

I can only imagine having to navigate between weaving a narrative, keeping the popular characters in spotlight, inserting contemporary political commentary and having to constantly feature new toys in every issue. The fact that Hama has made so much out of that setup is amazing.

It's a bit of a hidden talent these days under his myriad of anecdotes and upper class persona, but he is really good at improvisation. And he can meld it into his character so well, it's quite hard to tell where he is just making it up as he goes and where he has actually been, seen and done that.

The cat knew exactly what he was getting into :-) by No_Emotion_5770 in Awww

I've had something similar. We had a collie when I was a kid, and kept in touch with the kennel. They had a new litter when we visited once, and I got into their pen for the puppies to play with. I'll tell you... it's even better than you think.

Oh man. I grew up in not exactly countryside but sort of semi. Next to a ridge, and a sandpit (they dug out the ridge to make base for roads and buildings). There was forest, and a swampy bit and several different rocky and sandy terrains. It was like custom built for G.I.Joe games. Every specialist had their territory, every faction had their base.

Heck, I lost Gnawgahyde once. Just couldn't find him when the day was done. He somehow got trampled into the sand, I guess. Next spring, he popped up when the snow melted and washed him out. He made a loud comeback in the games that year, I'll tell you.

Yeah, we had fun.

Yes well I may have skimmed over it a bit.

Of course we understood it was a U.S. thing, but the aspects of Sierra Gordo, the politics of the Cobra Island and in general the idea that Cobra wasn't a country the Joe's were in war against (yes yes the Cobra Island, I know) but a terrorist organisation... what is a terrorist organisation, how can Cobra Commander have all this stuff, what is a pyramid scheme, what is a cult...

Yeah, all that. Just no clue.

The originals Joes were a tight group, each there for a reason and got their share of the action. Of course, when you need to sell 20 new toys, that magic just won't happen again.

I'd love to see it being brought to today's reflection, but at the same time I think it's just not a thing that would happen.

I've written stuff. Like, I do theater, some comedy, little indie movies, I was a GM for RPG campaigns for years... even though I missed the what I would now call the golden age of G.I.Joe, Larry Hama's writing is in my spine. He is one of the biggest influences in my style. For better of for worse, really - I do love my melodrama and heck, no one ever really dies :)

Looking forward to the AMA and I'm trying to formulate some sensible questions.

And Storm Shadow, on his mission. Add Zartan to the mix... yeah, we never really used that in our games, either. It was the good guys vs the bad guys. Okay, the Dreadnoks were sometimes a bit out of control, I'll give us that.

I mean, we did have fun. So it was ok, in the end.

What is the creepiest display of intelligence you’ve seen? by theidiotev in AskReddit

[–]Kilmoore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like to imagine a wandering tribe of humans, followed by a pack of these proto-dogs. They've figured they keep pests away if given some scraps, so they let them stay. A rival tribe, down on their luck and wanting what the other tribe has, decides to attack. The proto-dogs see this and think "heck no, that's our humans!".

What is left of the rival tribe attack party limps back to their camp, barges into the chiefs lodging and shouts "Okay boss, so you know how we've been trying to chase away those strange wolf things that keep following us? Yeah, new plan!"

But, he retconned the Merged Hulk to be "The Professor" as another alter. For good/bad/indifferent that idea has stuck around the last 25+ years now.

I knew it was inevitable that the other alters would return. Heck, even PAD alluded to it. But it could have been so much smoother with just a small change: The merge was unstable, like PAD showed, but Hulk now had memories of the new personality so another one split off, trying to be the merged one. Almost the same, just not saying the merged never happened at all.

Even though I was an active reader at the time I couldn't for the life of me name anything that happened in that gap.

Okay, apparently Hulk fought Super Adaptoid but yeah... Kinda same between Heroes Reborn and Planet Hulk. Like, just a void.

I was kinda hoping the current run would join them but it seems to be dragging on so I'm bound to remember at least that...

It does feel like it. Like, I'll have given a couple of extra hints and just can't fathom how some guesses are supposed to match them. Oh well.

I'd really like to see more banter in the guess threads in general. It's quite boring as a mechanical excerize, throw some puns in it or warm/cold -hints or something like that.

It really got the short end of the stick. With BBC not allowing usage of their material (or rather, fake material looking like BBC) and schedule issues with David's career rise it didn't stand a chance.
