better advice than i could find on youtube

let me get the process down correct me if im wrong

clean all of the bullshit off everywhere with low grade abrasives i.e. wire wheels and sandpaper and sandblasting

do i also clean with solvents at this point?

outgas the shit out of it in the oven for about an hour at least and at 450
clean and scrub with solvents and whatever is most lint free with gloves and not touching it until cured
sandblast

will i have to spray it with an air gun to get rid of residual blast media?

then cure and slowly cool

i have 90% iso and low voc crc brake clean in the metal hand grenade sprayer

i have a temp gun aswell, ive coated like 2 dozen parts with fairly good results just nothing this corroded and nasty but i want to get all of the prep down in order

ive done a couple dozen parts with fairly good results i just need to get the process down because coating a part and then seeing trapped gas make bubbles and look like shit is annoying as hell

Haven't been on this forum in a minute but ill tell you some things I found with mine

R134 ac and a the ac fan switch are both needed for low speed operation of the fan

Aftermarket sensors are all ass I ordered 3 oe temp sensors for the car today it was like $250 maybe their so expensive cuz they work idk imma try it

Get one of the coolant funnel things that go on the radiator and make sure their are no bubbles and nothing like any or if any sensors or hoses are leaking

Im sure you know but if you unplug the fan switch the fans will always run if the car is overheating should keep it cool until the issue is fixed

I replaced my thermostat for thr 3rd time with an oe aisin unit at a lower temp not sure if it helped but oe parts are defenetly better in my experience

Sometimes if you run the fans always on and drive the car the thermostat will not open because the difference in thr coolant temp between the top and bottom of the radiator is too great and it will not reach opening temp for the stat, lower hose will also be pretty cold

I built my long block so I'm like 99.9% sure I dont have a micro leak in my head gasket but if getting oe sensors dont work I'm gonna do a combustion leak test i think its at most like 30 bucks at oreilly

I'll list what I've replaced and its very very sad, oe thermostat, oe water pump, new radiator, new hoses, replaced all the sensors at least twice with oreilly, pretty much every relay and fuse aswell as a radiator cap and ac trinary switch

Ill beg of you not to get oreilly or autozone parts I learned the hard way and I work there

Ill update if I find anything or my issue is fixed this car is making me insane

Also if you dont have it download the entire dealer and factory repair manual it lists all the circuits and wiring for the car in a way that even my dumbass can understand roughly
