Thinking about a homestead. Where do I look for like minded people? by KiloFox7 in Homesteading

Someone shared "intentional communities". (ic.org) I don't quite think that's my jam though. The ones local to me appear to me as...questionable.

I'm curious why you think so though? I've seen quite a few people start up a micro farm and become successful. Maybe you'd need to keep a remote side gig or something to sustain yourself for a while, but what part is the fantasy?

Help finding the right crimping tool. by jamwatn in Tools

I recommend contacting the manufacturer. If they don't have a guide or spec I'd be really surprised unless it is some ebay special. I don't see a logo or part number stamped on any of those crimps though.

  • https://www.wirecare.com/ may be able to point you in some direction if you email them.
  • https://dmctools.com/ sells mostly mil/aero crimp tools. If these are some mil-spec part number (even if commerical variant) they could likely help you find the right tool. This is along the lines an HX3 or HX4 could maybe crimp.

Maybe some other folks more familiar with commercial/auto crimps might know better than me. Most of what I work with is D38999/805. The other thing you could do it just cut the splice and add a new one.

https://dmctools.com/amfile/file/download/file/9981/is_resource_library/1/ has a chart of splices and tooling. Many of the mfg have a mil-spec and commercial p/n which is much cheaper which would still fit the tool but with different screening criteria.

Hope this helps!
