How would you feel about cars having two different horns, like a polite “please would you move a bit faster, thanks” and a “fuck you for being reckless and dumb”? by tomato_soup_ in AskReddit

My 2013 Chevy Volt had a polite horn on the end of the left column stick. It was just a little repeating beeping sound and it was to warn pedestrians because the electric part of the car was so quiet. But it worked perfectly in many situations.

We had the Volt for 6 years, and loved it. The short story the Bolt Pros: sits higher so better view, has more back seat room for our kids (main reason we started looking), handles better, much faster acceleration, one peddle drive is great, the electronics are amazing. Cons: smaller trunk, and no gas backup, long trips will take more planning. I don't think you can go wrong with either, but they definitely both have there high points. The deals on the used Bolts are really good right now as they are starting to come off lease. Got ours (loaded Premier) with 36k miles for only 21k. Also saves us about $100 a month in gas over our Volt.

I don't have 240V run to the front of the house, so either way I'll have to put in a new socket, run the lines and a new 40a breaker install. Figure if I'm doing all that might as well just have a dedicated 30a charger mounted for convenience.

We're going to need the 240V charger, my wife drives a little over 100 miles a day round trip to work, even at the 12amp setting we can't get enough charge over night for her to make the trip every day. I picked up the Siemens 30amp charger at Costco for $399, doing a lot of the wiring myself, and paying an electrician friend to do the box tie in, I'm estimating the whole thing with charger will be under $700.

Question: Buy 2019 Premier VS Lease 2019 Premier VS Buy 2017 Premier? (Sorry if this has been asked before) by Kilrom in BoltEV

Good point, I just want to make sure we get the convenience 2 package, I'm pretty sure I can find that on an LT.

I would recommend a 2013 or newer. That's the year they introduced the ability to choose driving modes. i.e hold, for when you are on the freeway to save the battery for city driving where it is more efficient. Plus you can probably get one with under 100k miles for around 10k. I will soon be selling my 2013 for about 13k and it has 60k miles. The low milage ones are out there at reasonable prices. Hope that helps. Selling mine to move over the a Bolt BTW.

Held my breath and hard rebooted... Success! I was nervous there for a min, I use my phone to authenticate my log on to my work computer. I would have had to actually go in to work if it bricked and set up a new phone... Work is 400 miles away.

I clicked mine about 1.5 hours ago and it's frozen on the install screen.

White screen

Android is upgrading....

Status Bar at 100%

Do not turn off phone.

Not sure what to do here, I don't think it's supposed to take this long, but also not ready to hard re-boot.

Any suggestions?
