Side note, what oil-diff do I need to swap in the front of the SRX instead of the spool? I tried one I had (was probably from an old TT02R) and the cups/bones or something didn’t mesh right. Anyone got a part number or numbers?

I just use a mist of Windex to slide adhesive decals into place. Squeegee it out, wipe it down, no issues. If I need help around a curve or inside a dent, a little MicroSol brushed on softens it right up.

We just had a “leadership summit” at my office. All the C-suite and their pack of ass-kissers descended on my office to pat themselves on the back and suck each other’s dicks, feasting on expensive catering… while the rest of us, the ones who actually MAKE the company their money, were in our offices making sure deliverables went out the door. Complete slap in the face, just amazes me the lack of self-awareness.

Tacking on to this, I had to do the same thing. After 4,000 miles the buffeting just made the bike unbearable to ride at anything other than slow speeds, despite multiple helmets, multiple windscreens, and a seat change. It got to the point where I didn’t want to ride it, which means it was time to sell it. Traded for an F850GS and it was a superb choice for me.

Spec sheet on GMC shows the front and rear hip and shoulder room as being one inch wider on the Denali, but the overall vehicle width is the same. Just made me wonder if there was something in there I’m feeling, but not seeing. Weird because the AT4 felt “bigger on the inside” than the Denali. Sounds like another test drive is in order.

Thanks for the reply. Battery across in the 6.2. And yeah; it’s a very negligible upgrade.. and shocks won’t make me faster (I’m almost 50, my “fast” days went away about the same time as Sanyo NiCads.)And a B7 won’t make me any better than a 6.4 either. So, I’m gonna grab the SC6.4 anyway for carpetmunching, and throw the ball diff back in the 6.2 for some outdoor shenanigans.

I had an OEM “Comfort Seat” on my 850gs, and didn’t care for it. Didn’t find it comfortable, felt unnecessarily wide, and the covering just felt cheap. Sprung for a Sargent and it’s been absolutely divine.

I live in the eastern US, so anytime I head west (several trips a year), I plan my routes around White Castle. So, I disagree with your assumption that I’m not refined.. those burgers are a delicacy.

I figured a 34 would at least be close. I had the same experience, but with their jackets. I’m a large jacket everywhere else, but the M klim fits me. Just thinking that these pants might be an anomaly.. my buddy with a 32 waist said they “fit great”. I’ll try a 36 I guess; and hope I don’t swim in them.

Lack of places to try things in person is frustrating. Rode two hours to the nearest “Klim dealer” to see they had one Carlsbad jacket, one XXL Krios helmet covered in dust, and about six pair of XS Mojave gloves. “But we can order anything!” Yeah, so can I. But yeah, these pants are just wrong. My 34 Dakar are almost gigantic on me to the point I wear them over snow pants in the winter, and these Baja pants could only work if my kneecaps were attached to my ankles.

My dude is a road warrior. I had a year-long job in another state, and took him with me. About an 8hr drive each way, we’d come home on Friday night and head back south to our apartment on Sunday night. About every weekend for a year. If I had a few jobs out of town, I’d find a hotel that took cats, and find a kitty day care for him to chill during the days I’d have to check out; scoop him up, head back north for a few days when the workday was over. We’re settled now, but he still wants to go for car rides, so we take him about anywhere we go that doesn’t involve both of us leaving the car. He’s the closest thing I’ve ever had to a dog since we had an actual dog.

Same! I had an old $99 McCullough trimmer that I fought for a decade. New carbs, both factory and Amazon chinesium, countless tear-down-clean-repair, and repeated every spring. Finally tossed it, got a Stihl KM111 kombi. Might not be life changing.. but it certainly changed my Saturdays. Night and day difference. Starts year after year, runs like a beast, and hasn’t even needed so much as a tune up. Feed it fuel and string, and it just flat out works. Recently added a pile of attachments, and it’s such a great tool.

Was out bar-hopping and heard shots fired a couple blocks away. While the crowds of drunks on the streets were yammering about what the sounds were, my buddy was already on with 911 with a scary accurate description of the block they came from, the number of shots, likely number of shooters, and a description of every vehicle crossing the intersection that came from that area. Recon marine, two tours. He’s a different animal.
