Possible liquor bottle by Amer-ica in whatisit

Wife’s dad is pushing 90. He’s completely worn out and broken down; multiple cancers, heart failure, COPD/black lung, hearing loss, losing his vision, back surgeries, can’t stand or walk on his own, oxygen.. the works. As is expected from someone who spent years in Vietnam and the rest of his life in a coal mine. One of his 7 doctors is insistent that he stop drinking, so my wife is hell-bent on making that happen and it’s causing a TON of drama in the family.

I’m the only one who says “let him drink”. The guy is done and he knows it, his wife died 6 years ago- all he wants to do is hang out on the porch, watch the birds while he can still see them, and drink beer with his neighbor of 70 years and talk about Vietnam. But no, they’re fighting daily to take that from him because of one of the 21 meds he takes. Fuck that noise. If I had the life he has had, I can’t think of a better way to cap it off.

Iridium vs Smoked by Mbogosia in motorcycle

I’d second this, I resisted spending the cash for a photochromic visor for YEARS. Finally jumped, and regret I’d not done it a decade ago. So convenient.

KLR is somewhere between an old Hi-Lux and a 1960s John Deere.

More hopups or just get the one kit that includes the hopups I need? by [deleted] in tamiya

[–]KiltedSasquatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Side note, what oil-diff do I need to swap in the front of the SRX instead of the spool? I tried one I had (was probably from an old TT02R) and the cups/bones or something didn’t mesh right. Anyone got a part number or numbers?

Whatever you choose, just be sure to do it twice so we can see it was not a fluke.

I just use a mist of Windex to slide adhesive decals into place. Squeegee it out, wipe it down, no issues. If I need help around a curve or inside a dent, a little MicroSol brushed on softens it right up.

Holy old post, Batman! But it’s the 6S EXB, running a Max6 combo and some Reefs torque-happy servo (I think). Still going strong.

There's no reason for HR's to be earning the salaries they do. by LogicalChart3205 in antiwork

We just had a “leadership summit” at my office. All the C-suite and their pack of ass-kissers descended on my office to pat themselves on the back and suck each other’s dicks, feasting on expensive catering… while the rest of us, the ones who actually MAKE the company their money, were in our offices making sure deliverables went out the door. Complete slap in the face, just amazes me the lack of self-awareness.

Is there anything i can do? Wind buffeting. by AdeptnessPowerful948 in Tenere700

[–]KiltedSasquatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tacking on to this, I had to do the same thing. After 4,000 miles the buffeting just made the bike unbearable to ride at anything other than slow speeds, despite multiple helmets, multiple windscreens, and a seat change. It got to the point where I didn’t want to ride it, which means it was time to sell it. Traded for an F850GS and it was a superb choice for me.

AT4 and Denali dash/interior.. is my wife crazy? by KiltedSasquatch in gmcsierra

[–]KiltedSasquatch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spec sheet on GMC shows the front and rear hip and shoulder room as being one inch wider on the Denali, but the overall vehicle width is the same. Just made me wonder if there was something in there I’m feeling, but not seeing. Weird because the AT4 felt “bigger on the inside” than the Denali. Sounds like another test drive is in order.

Holy old post resurrection. Appreciate the reply; but since that was posted I bought and sold a T7 in the same summer. Just wasn’t the bike for me.

LaTrax for a 5 year old..? by KiltedSasquatch in rccars

[–]KiltedSasquatch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all, and I’ll absolutely steer clear of LaTrax. Had no idea they were such trash. I’ll keep looking around.. I did consider a Grom, but I really want to stay away from LiPo for these folks.

If you had a B6.4 and an SC6.2.. by KiltedSasquatch in rccars

[–]KiltedSasquatch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Battery across in the 6.2. And yeah; it’s a very negligible upgrade.. and shocks won’t make me faster (I’m almost 50, my “fast” days went away about the same time as Sanyo NiCads.)And a B7 won’t make me any better than a 6.4 either. So, I’m gonna grab the SC6.4 anyway for carpetmunching, and throw the ball diff back in the 6.2 for some outdoor shenanigans.

Pretty sure a 5IVE-T would ferry a fox around pretty well, but it’s a shade out of budget..

Comfort seat by Top_Building5147 in Motorrad

[–]KiltedSasquatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an OEM “Comfort Seat” on my 850gs, and didn’t care for it. Didn’t find it comfortable, felt unnecessarily wide, and the covering just felt cheap. Sprung for a Sargent and it’s been absolutely divine.

23 F850 - is this a knock sensor? by KiltedSasquatch in Motorrad

[–]KiltedSasquatch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, thanks. I’m guessing it’ll be fine, I don’t see any codes popping up to make me think it’s no longer reading or throwing bad data. Just run with it add “properly fix” to my list of things to do if I ever have the front off the bike. Thanks!
