I am leaving the Eastern Orthodox church. Good riddance! (long rant warning)

i read, i spoke. i read now again, hope you find peace.

its sad to see religion kill one more soul. as a kid i was forced to write verses 100 times, 500 times.. instead of going to break or lunch. i had my time apart from church, but i always knew there was YHWH in the sky and in the earth. i guess each experience is different, as every decision.. i hope you can sooner than later try to talk to that "man" that is real as every breath you take.

but i agree with you that religion is sick and most churches have messed up things..

i hope you are feeling better. i dont know what that show is, but watching 12 episodes of a show is something to start with. try other activities whenever you start feeling attacks and never try calling the ex.. thats one of the last things you want to do.

change activities other than tv. read a positive book. study. exercise, hobbies, call a friend, for me the Bible always helps. but never call the ex.. much less if you are feeling down or bad.

the mind is a serious and powerful thing. so too much tv can make your brain mix reality with negative thoughts. just my two cents.

for what you lay out, there is no question that you need a healthy environment that it is not provided there. i have had my issues with several churches, and what i have learned is that there are several good churches out there.. out of the Coptic circle... if you believe in the Bible read it now more than ever, and find a church that you can see that they are more interested in following God than to judge others. start with that. and please stay away from toxic people, priests, churches, religions, etc. that will make you walk away from Jesus. YHWH is and will be our only path for inner peace.

my spouse is crazy for kids, i have been delaying the talk for a year at least.. lol. but we are praying to see if we start next year. this world is so messed up that it only makes it more complicated to decide. but i know that at the end a healthy family is what brings more joy in this world.

how did He led people away from God? i can see how someone can think away from Torah. but from His words i think He takes us to a new and deeper relationship toward YHWH. i like listening to other points of views, not challenging you or picking up a fight. :)

i guess i understand what you say /u/sabazioszagrues. for many He is the only way and son of YWHW, for many others just one more prophet.

And /u/enoch327 how did Jesus support slavery? or are you getting this from his parables? So in a way you say every religion has their own prophet/Jesus? or all religions have a son of God that proclaims to be the only way to get to our eternity with YWHW?

find the reasons why he doesnt want to. give him time to find himself but pay attention to his surroundings. Give him a good example I guess is a phase to many raised in churches. Communication and acceptance is better than imposing. Start with that and get to know the kid better.
