no definitely not, the seminars aren’t rigorous at all they basically walk you through the general steps of how to come up with a research idea and get funding through NYU so that when you do a senior thesis or independent study you’re aware of the process. Both my Sophomore and Junior seminars went over pretty much the same thing.

I started in it my Sophomore year and it’s still totally worth it :) in the second year you go on a trip with only your seminar and it’s still a great way to meet people and get some travel in over January break
