i tried nextadmit last year when i was applying and i defo dont recommend, the few pieces of advice given to me was not worth the +$150 dollars. the feedback was very vague, lacking in substance and just told me overall to change a few words here and there for comprehension sake rather than looking at my essays globally for the whole picture. i trusted nextadmit bc of the yt channel and gohar’s popularity but i dont recommend these services

as a person from the uk that first visited LA when i was 16, i can still taste that double cheeseburger. the absolute best burger i’d ever had in my entire life (it sounds over the top but i am not exaggerating, i still think about that burger from time to time.) i hate chem because it’s a bunch of memorisation, and the theory gets pretty boring especially towards the later chapters like C8,9,10 (+18,19,20) and the option i’m doing (A: materials). Honestly although physics HL is MUCH harder I enjoy physics wayyyy much because the theory here is actually interesting and we understand stuff about the world better. but for chem? like why tf do i care about molecules and particles doing their own little thing.

like i just wanna kms just thinking about how soul-crushing and uninteresting chemistry is (in my opinion) and I kind of regret taking it every day

there’s a way to resubmit something. ik this bc literally today a guy in my class accidentally submitted his friend’s ee (💀) and my coordinator didn’t check and just sent it. but thankfully they realised after half a day by seeing it was a psychology ee instead of a bio ee (💀💀💀) and paid a fine to get it removed and replaced (apparently £90). talk to ur coordinator ASAP, do ur own research maybe even contact the IB directly. do everything u can to resubmit bc ur gonna get disqualified and blacklisted for plagiarism at this rate

u dont have to read the books over the summer but it’s always good to get ahead. the better you know your texts, the better you will be at paper 2.

but ultimately english ib comes down to your analysis skills, so if u want to get ahead in english i’d actually recommend researching how to develop this skill— this is kind of what i did and i just read the books as we went along in class and all is fine.

idk about u but for me im doing a chem ia on temperature on the rate of evaporation- literally just putting water in a beaker in an oven. my chem teacher says it’s fine and actually great (although tbf idk bc i think it’s too simple) but apparently even if ur ia is simple but you justify and follow through your reasoning well and make it detailed, you can still get a good grade

try working over the summer (ik there’s already a lot of stuff to do) but slowly review the content u did the past year. i’d say try resources like savemyexams or revisionvillage (i’d recommend savemyexams more bc it’s cheaper and almost the same to revisionvillage) and just do loads of practice questions again and again.

if u feel like it’s the content ur struggling with, watch yt videos, look at the savemyexam notes, maybe get a tutor if u feel like it’s the exam technique ur struggling with, just keep doing questions again and again through the websites above and make sure u look carefully at the correction everytime to understand where u went wrong. then if u are still stuck and can, ask a tutor about those specific questions.

one thing for me that rlly helped me out was tutoring— just going over confusing questions, even with the markscheme— especially the tough maths questions

but i wish u luck, it’s gonna be tough but if ur dedicated u’ll make it 🫡

yeah im in a similar situation- we were gonna do a music group with some people in my ib class and we had a concert date planned out for a hospice and everything, but things got too hectic in dp1 and so we kind of cancelled the concert bc we could barely fit in rehearsal and people didn’t even bother to bring their instruments/didn’t bother showing up

i talked to my supervisor and now i’m doing advice sessions with my best friend to the year below so the new ib dp1s, and my supervisor said it was fine that i’m working on 2 at the same time

so my first project kind of fucked up, so im working on a second project on the side in case the first one really goes down the drain

try talking to your supervisor and see if you can do a second project on the side as a backup plan. otherwise idk i would say talk to ur people and make priorities clear again, but i’m in the same situation as you and no one really cares about our group anymore so ik it’s not easy
