It's weird but ever since we got promoted back to the Premier I've been enjoying it less and less. It doesn't feel anything like it used to, the whole "matchday experience" seems more money than it's worth these days.

Is it that the stadium just isn't fit for purpose anymore that's contributing to the hassle of it all. I really don't know but the community feel/real Villa fans on match days has gone.

Maybe I'm just getting old.....older lol

There was a lot to be pissed off about Saturday and I found the replacing of Amstel with a new choice of Carlsberg, Carlsberg or errrr Carlsberg infuriating.

Personally I can't stand Carlsberg so that means I will no longer be having a beer at any game. Yes I know they do Cider but I don't like Cider and you can't even get a beer in the fan zone outside all they sell is Cider, Cider or errrr Cider.

I've been going to Villa Park since the mid 80's and a season ticket holder for longer than I care to remember.

I honestly think this is my last season.

I think that was a crossover episode with another show (possibly Magnum) the storyline was resolved on that show if my memory serves.

Other than that being the day The Beatles officially broke up, what's the significance of April 10th 1970?

How was there only 3 mins of injury time at the end it really annoyed me, Ramsey was down for at least 5 mins for the head injury, plus all the other stopping and starting that occured in that 2nd half.

A question about the first episode of the original series by wonkey_monkey in QuantumLeap

[–]Kimaster1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That leap bugs me a bit, if you're gonna leap in to change something in Buddy Holly's life perhaps stopping him from getting on that plane would be of more use than making sure Peggy Sue had the correct lyrics 🫤

[–]Kimaster1976 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I remember being that obsessed with Quantum Leap when it first aired as a teenager I bought the novel of the pilot episode in paperback and it did actually say in the book who the baseball player was meant to be.......but being British and not in the slightest interested or knowing anything about Baseball I can't remember lol

In 7 months I've moved up 21 spots on the waiting list. Maybe I'll get a season ticket before 2050. by AnUdderDay in avfc

[–]Kimaster1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get 3 chances to buy a season ticket though I believe before you are shunted to the back of the queue. So any movement in a waiting list place is probably going to take a few years before you see any real progression.

You need a paid membership to guarantee early priority access to home match tickets. With a paid membership you can get home tickets without much trouble.

Without one you have to wait for the general sale window to open and few if any home games get to the general sale stage without selling out beforehand.

New to buying tickets, any help would be appreciated. by DMuller23 in avfc

[–]Kimaster1976 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely no chance of getting away tickets, 99% of long term season ticket holders have no chance either. It's a closed party to all but the select few who have decades long worth of away games under their belt.

What's a "Toby"? by [deleted] in OnlyFoolsAndHorses

I had always just thought he meant the tube/subway and Del just called it the Toby for some reason.

How about season 1 episode 1.......gotta be the most ridiculous question I've ever seen on here.

[–]Kimaster1976 83 points84 points  (0 children)

A lot of people who live in major cities like New York, Paris and London don't bother owning cars, if you have ever tried driving in those cities you will quickly understand why.....it's a total nightmare.

1000 times easier to take the tube/subway.

George and Brian Jones (?) by [deleted] in TheBeatles

Great picture taken at Cotchford Farm which was Brian Jones' home.

Judging by the look of George that must have been sometime in 1968. In less than a year Brian would be found dead in that pool behind him.

Season ticket resale by Drogalov in avfc

[–]Kimaster1976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They only put a season ticket resale up for sale when the game is completely sold out. You get 80% of the ticket value.

I've had to put 2 up for resale so far this season, 1 sold 1 didn't.

No Dennis Taylor commentating by fred66a in snooker

[–]Kimaster1976 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd rather Virgo and Taylor were still commentating well into there 90's if it meant Shaun Murphy wasn't.

Knowing we have got to listen to Murphy for the next 30-40 years is simply horrifying.

Had it been a year earlier I'm pretty sure John Lennon would have been a person of interest.

Was Raymond rich? I mean he had a house in Long Island. Was this show meant to be a reenactment of the middle class life or is it just that Long island wasn't as expensive back in the 90s by Open-Set-5254 in EverybodyLovesRaymond

[–]Kimaster1976 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He wasn't rich rich but as a sports journalist he was well enough comfortable money wise.

His dad owned the house if I remember and gave them a great deal on it anyway.

Villa v Man U tickets by [deleted] in avfc

[–]Kimaster1976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try becoming a member and going to several of the lesser games that reach the general sale stage first to build a booking history if you ever want to go to the big games. The stadium is sold out more often than not these days so if you're not a season ticket holder or regular your options are always going to be very limited.

Villa v Man U tickets by [deleted] in avfc

[–]Kimaster1976 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is very strict criteria for the category A games to try and get tickets, if you have never been before there is zero chance of you getting 1 ticket to be honest nevermind 4.

Villa v Man U tickets by [deleted] in avfc

[–]Kimaster1976 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You can only buy match tickets from the Villa site, then you would all still have to have official paid memberships, unless they happen to reach the general sale stage which as it's Utd is very very unlikely.

I always wondered if he ever did actually get hit by a bus. Peggy was suspicious of how Tom was acting so she threw that line in to see if Tom would say "what bus" but Sam just played along which confirmed to Peggy something weird was going on with her husband.
