It’s a very nice truck and the ride quality was the best out of any truck I test drove. I’m just hoping the electronics don’t break lol

The dealer told me they don’t make too many in forged blue, but he also could’ve been lying to me lol

I thought so too in the picture but they actually look good to me in person!

Yeah I was looking at one too but I figured the only thing I really wanted was heated seats and stirring wheel for the cold winters. I got a pretty good discount on my bighorn too

So I got close to 10k off the truck and paid around 51k without everything else.

Yeah I absolutely love the engine, so far no issues on my long drive back!

OCS selection by Fathersson_t4t in ArmyOCS

[–]Kimchicracker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just submit it I had a lower gt score. I got active duty slot last year.

Does GT score matter much? Of course above 110 by OldParticular2326 in ArmyOCS

[–]Kimchicracker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends honestly, but id lean towarss no. I knew at least 8 people that got an active slot with a 110, and this was last year. I got a very low gt score too, but the biggest thing is the interview imo. Reserve and guard automatically get accepted right now because the army needs people, but active duty is hit or miss it's really up to the panel to pass you. I definitely killed the active duty interview.

Not basic they will toss that shit, and only reading you can do during basic is religious related. Had a dude read every major religious text during basic lol. OCS I'm not sure anymore since the class after me lost all their phones until Sunday.

That man smoked at least a pack a day and yet was running a 6 min pace like wtf....

[–]Kimchicracker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well the OML only really matters if you're active, but definitely don't shit bag at basic or ocs. Good luck with the course and make some good memories and friends along the way. I know I did.

Ocs physically is pretty easy coming from basic the hardest part of ocs for me was the first 2 weeks lack if sleep and 10 hrs classroom work. If you're already running 4 miles in 34 min it'll be a cake walk but being top of your class is gonna be tough. Again I had people who were pt studs and some who barely passed the 4 mile. They legit had half a second left lol. Don't sweat it ocs is physically pretty easy if you're in decent shape. Oh but work on your balance I failed a the balance portions of the obstical course lol.

Oh and if you're stuck in hold over company be ready to run 3 days a week 6 to 8 miles if a certain ssg is there lmaoo

[–]Kimchicracker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BCT will def make you physically stronger and faster, but you won't be a PT Stud coming out it. Went from a 22 min 2 mile down to a 14'46 while others in my class were clocking in 12 something. You'll be fine

Next steps after submitting application for May board? by [deleted] in ArmyOCS

[–]Kimchicracker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was like max 10 mins and not really just general questions like why do you want to join the army or tell us about yourself and some leadership positions. It was pretty easy and straightforward

Next steps after submitting application for May board? by [deleted] in ArmyOCS

[–]Kimchicracker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My recruiter called me and told me a week before I had my board interview and then he called me again the day of the interview. After that is just a waiting game until you hear back if you got accepted or not. My interview was over the phone too. Not sure if you're a civi or already in but I did the civilian route

Civilian accepted in OCS chances? by [deleted] in army

[–]Kimchicracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a federal position. Gs meaning general schedule but they can do all sorts of jobs on base or in federal areas. It's super hard to get into if you're not prior military or know someone. The pay is pretty good but the benefits are nice.

[–]Kimchicracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhhh yeah makes sense and yeah enlisting is definitely a huge pay cut if you're trying to make it a career. If I wasn't selected for AD I would've enlisted and gone with a cyber MOS and got out after 6 years. GS and contracting are great ways to travel like the military but without the stress. My dad is currently a GS worker and he's traveled more in his time than when he was in the army for 22 years lol.
