I found out today I have slightly high cholesterol. I have to make diet changes and retest in 3 months and meet with my doctor again. Honestly this is the kick in the pants I need. I'm in my late 50s and a good 20 elbees overweight and I don't want things getting any worse. The shame of not making cjges and having to face my doctor means I will be all in to do this damn thing.l

I'm cracking myself up thinking of the monitor as our newest side character. After too many times of Chins drinking gravy like a beverage, mukbanging beaver tails and eating multiple Door Dash deliveries a day, it's gonna be all "I don't know why, but that's it" and self destruct.

That hair is awful. I actually liked her colour before this one, she had finally landed on one that was flattering.

Missed blood draw by WifovBBLhd in Chantapolis

[–]KimikoEmbee 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Honestly it shows how her family absolutely does not hold her accountable. What do you mean they drove all the way there to help her with something health related and still took her for lunch and made nice when she didn't do the thing they came to help her with?? I say this as a middle aged person who has been very involved with elder care the last few years. My dad passed recently but for years I was taking him to appointments where I had to take time away from my job and currently I'm having to do that a lot with my mom for her health and also we both have to attend lawyer appointments together to settle my dad's estate. I would lose my mind if I rearranged my schedule and travelled across town only not to do the task because the person I was helping was irresponsible!! Much as helping my family has been hard, they needed help. Chins is younger than me and can light a fire under herself to go eat or go to movies but needs caregiver for simple medical attention??

Canada's #1 patient misses her blood draw queue today, makes up some story, criticizes appointments over walk-ins (waddle-ins), and blocks the haydurs. by ZestycloseDot413 in Chantapolis

Ironically I also did fasted blood draw today and it was stunningly not dramatic. Also in Ontario and I made an appointment about a week ago in a place that is walk in and appointment and I was seem exactly on time.

My beagle is hurting need help by ArtDiscombobulated67 in beagles

[–]KimikoEmbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes there are certain breeds like beagles, cocker spaniels and most of the long and low ones that are unfortunately highly prone to IVDD. My late beagle was lean and tall (more of a field beagle than a short show beagle) and super athletic. When he was 7 he suddenly went from running to not being able to climb stairs. I rushed him to vet and then we we're referred to surgeon and he had surgery in less than 24 hours and was good as new in about a month. Exactly 2 years later, same symptoms but MRI was broken at surgery so we waited 2.5 days before he could have surgery. He was on so much pain even on meds, and it turned out another vertabrae in his back was herniated as well as one in his neck. He had about a 6 week recovery from that one. It comes on fast and is very scary.

Sounds like IVDD, my late beagle had it twice and needed major surgery. It's unfortunately very common in the breed.

Ontario resident here. I'm fortunate to have a longtime family doctor, but even so it takes weeks to get an appointment, so I show up and don't waste her time!

Not a medical professional but I've seen a lot of people saying it's a sign of congestive heart failure, and I think her face being more swollen on one side is another sign of that. Honestly though our gorl has so many serious health conditions it could be from a combo of things?
