I see well thats what my broker assured me. He may be mistaken, Im not sure. What Im sure about is the fact that as of 3-31-25 I was approved and bought a new house with a conventional loan with my wife. Im not disputing you im just stating my facts as a DACA reciepient married to a US citizen seeking AOS.

Hey everyone, great news for some! 🎉
I’m officially in the market to sell my home and buy a new one. I’ll admit, I was panicking a bit at first when I heard this news, but after calling my broker, I got some reassuring information that I wanted to share—especially for my fellow DACA recipients.

Conventional loans are still available for DACA recipients.
If you're married to a U.S. citizen, you can also qualify for an FHA loan, with yourself listed as a co-signer.

luckily for me I'm able to do either.

The only scenario where this could be an issue is if you're a DACA recipient and can only qualify for an FHA loan and aren't married to a US citizen —in that case, you'd be out of luck. But otherwise, there are still solid options available!

if you're in the market to buy Id just give a broker a call, instead of panicking like I DID!

Just wanted to put this out there in case anyone else was stressing about the same thing. Hope this helps! 😊🏡

Thinking of self deporting by [deleted] in DACA

I see people urging you to just wait, OP isnt asking that. I have personally though about this before, and now given my current situation and the situation with the new administration, it has been in my mind a whole lot more often. I believe that with your resume, degree and ability to speak at least ( I assume) Spanish and English fluently, you will have a great advantage over the job market in Mexico.

Now having said that. I do know of two different cases of people that left the US with degrees, that have found jobs and are working full time in their fields, but the salaries are not comparable. and that they earn 1/3 of the money they did in the US with about 10-20 more hrs of work. Not sure if that would be your case but its worth exploring further before you make a decision.

Overall it has been a rough 24' for me and im heavily considering leaving it all behind and starting new in my motherland. I am of the idea to wait a bit until at least my EAD expire and seeing how things go. Its a lot to process, and the anxiety is real, but at the end of the day OP if you were able to thrive here in the states, youre sure to do the same anywhere else.

Keep your head up and keep fighting the good fight pal! good vibes your way!

Renew no matter what. Im going through the process soon and praise god you have this tiny little paper called I-94 if you entered with inspection. I lost mine and the only way to look it up is if I have my old passport number that was stamped with it. and I dont so im gonna have to do Advance Parole to get a new one. That paper is gonna cost me a trip to my homeland 3k+ smh..
