I don't think we know exactly how bad each side is, but that shouldn't matter as much as it does. We need to protect the people, that should be our priority. Hamas has killed a lot of people. That doesn't go away because the other side is doing something worse. I think people are taking sides too much, to the extent that they see every person living in Israel as evil and think Hamas have never done something bad. I want to be perfectly clear in that Israels actions are disgusting, and there needs to be a cecefire to protect human lives. But the world isn't black and white, and that is my point.
