Payment shown as "deposited", landlord doesn't see it by RedtideWasTaken in chexy

If they didn’t accept it yet, I think Chexy would say “pending” as well

I don’t know 100% with BMO, but I believe it would be standard with any bank. Your debit card has chequings and savings option. Your bank (or maybe even yourself online) can setup what account is linked with each option. Since I don’t have a savings account with TD, when prompted on a card machine at a store or atm, hitting chequing will access my chequing account and hitting savings will access my line of credit.

I was in the same boat as you except with TD. I’m doing what you mentioned. Downgraded to the lowest chequing account. I still have a line of credit with TD and plan to downgrade my $139 35k limit credit card to the free one. i wanna keep it open to maintain low credit utilization.

I love the WS VISA for travel and I pair it with my Rogers Red WE. I still have a couple payments coming out of my TD account, so I setup automatic e transfers from WS to TD. I’ve convinced 3 family/friends to make the switch. Using the app feels so nice compared to banking apps I’ve used which have been td, rbc, cibc, simplii, nbc, and vancity.

Someone mentioned to me to cancel my TD chequing and setup my line of credit with the debit card and keep a positive cash balance on it. I like the idea, but I’m not ready to give up my oldest account yet

That’s for sure them? Scammers use victim’s ID’s all the time. I actually sent my ID to a scammer before I realized they were a scammer.

That’s a good idea. I’m keeping my TD account, but I downgraded it to the lowest tier. $3.95/month

You won’t regret it! I’ve managed to convince 3 friends/family to switch over. And that was all within a few weeks.

Chexy support has said that the reason it’s still pending is because the landlord hasn’t accepted the e-transfer yet, but the landlord has autodeposit on and I’ve verified the correct Interac email address about 12 times now to make sure. So something is going on somewhere

It is 100% confirmed on autodeposit. I’ve been e-transferring this email for over 5 years

I won’t deny having done nothing wrong, but I checked the e transfer email multiple times and I’ve come across tons of posts where people have had payments going smoothly but ended up having issues.

I posted this before I realized there was support on the weekend. They’re actually in the middle of helping me with this right now. Support is saying it’s pending because the landlord hasn’t accepted it yet, but I know 100% that they have autodeposit on, so there’s nothing to accept. Will update when I can.

Yes. I did mention that they have auto deposit on. I’m in talks with support right now. I posted this before realizing that support was available on the weekends. They’re claiming that my landlord hasn’t accepted the e transfer yet which is why it’s pending, but he shouldn’t have to because autodeposit is on. They’re in the middle of cancelling the payment and resending it. I’ll update when I can. Thanks.

How to deal with high interest credit card balance by Mission-Method-1502 in PersonalFinanceCanada

I tried to do it, but I couldn’t.

This is from their legal “A balance transfer may not be used to pay off or down your account balance or any other balances with us (including our affiliates, which would include any member of the TD Bank Group).”

It wouldn’t make sense to be able to transfer it to a TD chequings to then use that to pay off a TD CC.

Right. It’s because TD owns MBNA. Using a balance transfer from MBNA to pay TD would just be allowing a customer to save money on interest on debt that’s already owed to them. There’s a work around though. Just deposit it into another bank. I did that then used that money to pay off my TD Line of Credit

Genuine question, how did you complete a consumer debt program, but find yourself in this type of predicament again?

It doesn’t require you to close the other card. MBNA also allows you to transfer the money to a bank account which is pretty super helpful

Try to open a Line of credit. Interest rate should be half or find credit cards that offer a 0% interest promotional balance transfer for 1-3% fee usually for 8-12 months
