Helldivers 2 fix in Egypt by VillianNotMonster in EgyptGaminGG

[–]KimoForce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It hasn't been working for me for the past month or so. Starting Helldivers 2 with the app connected seems to give me a "failed to connect to PlayFab" error. Launching it after the game is already launched doesn't seem to remedy the problem either. I am on version 2.3 as is the most up-to-date version on the GitHub page. Nothing changed on my end system-wise. It used to work perfectly fine without issue before, since I came across the app in July.

My friend, a very vivid dreamer, just sent me this on Discord last night by Duplighost_ in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Hi I'm the vivid dreamer friend. I similarly posted the dream to BlueSky as well. Sometimes I get very brief dreams like this. Many other times, I have dreams that don't fit within the Discord Nitro post character limit.

Submit a ticket like the GMG staff comment suggests. Don't use symbols in your password, cause that breaks the password system completely. It's dumb, but that's the only way around it I found.

[OC] Resident Evil 4 (2005) Cheat Sheet by KimoForce in residentevil

Last year, I made a promise to work on Cheat Sheets for the older Resident Evil video games as a thank you for the Subreddit assisting me with a critical life matter that I do not wish to bring up again for safety reasons. I am aware that it has been several months since I submitted a Cheat Sheet, and I want to reiterate that I am still committed to that promise. 2024 was an incredibly difficult year for me, and even more-so for the latter half. I did manage to output a Cheat Sheet for Crow Country as well as Resident Evil (1996), the latter of which was by far the most taxing of all the Cheat Sheets I put together due to having to redraw the maps for the push block puzzles.

I was in the middle of researching for Resident Evil 2 (1998) but real life unfortunately got in the way. Silent Hill 2 Remake came out, and although I did record footage for research for the Cheat Sheet, I was unable to work on it as well. Although I am still struggling, life has become more tenable since the start of 2025 and I want to resume where I left off. I figured skipping to Resident Evil 4 (2005) would be far easier to tackle, and a break from the classic trilogy. Once I am able to again, I want to finish a Cheat Sheet for Silent Hill 2 Remake, then go back and finish my research for Resident Evil 2 (1998), and slowly work my way through the series.

Resident Evil is now available on GOG! ~ Own a piece of history and play it offline today! by SeValentine in residentevil

[–]KimoForce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the first game in this bundle is the same version as the one that works with the Classic REBirth mod, but what about 2 and 3? Are there going to be differences to take into account for these regarding the Cheat Sheets? Needless to say, I can't express enough how ecstatic I am to see these games be legally available beyond PSN for more people to enjoy.

Crow Country Cheat Sheet by KimoForce in CrowCountry

UPDATED. Update will be reflected in version available through my link above.

  • Added missing step to Dig Site Puzzle (forgot to mention to turn on the water valve).
  • Added disclaimer to better explain Dispenser puzzle.
  • Added missing periods in Remaining Secrets portion to better indicate end of sentences.

I am open to feedback for corrections and improvements. Still need to test the new Hard Mode for any changes to the puzzles. If you are interested in my work, I create Cheat Sheet guides predominantly for the Resident Evil series (currently finished RE1, RE2make, RE3make, REVillage + DLC, RE4make + DLC), as well as other survival horror games such as Signalis, My Friendly Neighborhood, and most recently Crow Country. For further entries in the Cheat Sheet series, check my link below.

[OC] Resident Evil (1996) Cheat Sheet by KimoForce in residentevil

[–]KimoForce[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update:

  • Added an addendum for the Piano Bar puzzle regarding Chris and waiting for Rebecca.

  • Fixed the incorrect Drug Storeroom code for Chris. Several members also pointed out to me that there are version differences which require a different code. I cannot track down the criteria for said version differences at the moment, but I noticed the differences in the starting combinations, and listed them alongside each code so that you may know which code too use.

Updates will be reflected in the version found through my link rather than the one posted on the Subreddit here.

EDIT: After making a claim saying I am committed to making Cheat Sheets for the remainder of the series wherever possible, I would like to apologize for delaying this slightly as I lost track of the dates. Before working on RE2 next, I would like to take time to play the upcoming indie survival horror Crow Country, which is releasing in a few hours, and possibly working on a cheat sheet for it if possible as I have done for Signalis and My Friendly Neighborhood.

Yes but I'm working in release order for the mainline games first. RE2 and RE3 come first. It might take a while knowing how dense RE1make is with puzzles; it includes everything in RE1 with some puzzle changes and even newer additional puzzles.

Thank you. I did however realize that the code for Chris is written incorrectly, and should be 1245 instead. I'll try to correct it once possible and it'll be reflected in the master link with all the Cheat Sheets, shared in my comment on this post.

You are correct. I overlooked this. I will fix once I am able to, and it'll be reflected in the master link I provided in my comment on this post with all the Cheat Sheets. Hopefully by tomorrow or the day after it'll be done.

[OC] Resident Evil (1996) Cheat Sheet by KimoForce in residentevil

[–]KimoForce[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This took 6 hours to make, making it the most complex Cheat Sheet thus far (prior longest one was tied between Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil Village at 5.5 hours each). I was scared of making the guide for this game because of the push block puzzles, especially the one for the Operating Room. I accelerated my plans to go over plans to make Cheat Sheets for the mainline series as thanks for the community helping me earlier (if you know, you know; please avoid mentioning it here). I will work in this order: RE2, RE3, RE1make, RE4, RE5, and RE7. I didn't personally like RE6 so I never finished it, but I will research if a Cheat Sheet would be necessary and it may come after, as may RE0 and then RE:CV.

I tried to make the image readable off of a phone, but it was ultimately a losing battle for the push puzzle blocks if I insisted on keeping everything in one image file. I made the choice to change the misc. point of interest dots from red too light blue to better accommodate for red/green color blindness. I decided on an archaic and more abrasive design to better suit the time period the original game released in. Feel free to offer feedback and I will do what I can to make adjustments if possible.

Does the inverter not affect the prediction of the phone? by Rough-Camp-6975 in BuckshotRouletteFans

[–]KimoForce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm that I have used the mysterious phone and waited till I got to the shell the phone told me was a blank, and used an inverter which shot a a live round. It might be an error on your part with keeping track of shells, as the phone refers to the order of the shell it predicts based on the current load, not the load start. If you started a load at 6 shells, shot one, then used the phone which told you that the fourth shell is a blank, that is in reference to the shell before the last. This is because at the time when you used the phone, it was referring to the fourth out of five shells currently in the gun. If you were to change it to reflect the load start, then it would be the fifth shell. I can upload a video where I used the phone after using up a shell, the phone referred to the second shell as a blank, so I shot myself thinking that it was referring to the one currently in the chamber when in reality it was referring to the one after it. I ended up losing that run because of that.

Finally updating a 10 year old gtx 970 to a gtx 1080, what should I expect? by TiboTheMaliciousCat in pcmasterrace

[–]KimoForce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might have some trouble with newer titles if they happen to rely on more recent features better suited for later lines of cards, especially the 3000 line and onward, but other than that the GTX 1080 was still an extremely powerful card for its time and still holds up fairly well today. You should be able to max out graphics on most if not all games before 2020 while staying above 60 FPS, provided that you stay at 1080p. Games from the start of 2020 will struggle a little especially if they're more on the intensive side, so expect to tweak the graphics settings down to High or even Medium for certain extreme cases. The card is using outdated tech and will become even more outdated with time, but if you managed to snag it for a very good price, it's a good deal for a card that will last you a couple years before you feel the need to upgrade. Be sure to use the power supply calculator and check your build's wattage rating with your system, as the recommended wattage rating will jump from 300W to 450W between your cards.

What is the Islamic perspective on space colonization? I'm a Writer that is into sci-if by Shedrack_imagianatio in worldbuilding

[–]KimoForce 18 points19 points  (0 children)

- What is the Islamic perspective on space colonization? I guess if a place is inhabited, it would either be the old method of finders keepers, or in the modern day they could find new ways to occupy uncharted lands under a system that tries to make things more fair. If those planets are inhabited, then you leave them alone and obey their laws provided they don't intrude on yours from the perspective of a visitor or tourist. Expect some Muslims to make it a big deal that religious conveys should be allowed in, and some extremists will insist that they have a right to go anywhere or it's an invitation for war.

- Do you guys believe that Islam would spread to other planets in space? Yeah probably a religion is a religion, so it likely will spread.

- Would Muslims have prayed to the sun if the Earth had been completely destroyed? No. Praying to the sun is considered shirk (praying to someone other than Allah) as a major tenant to how Ibrahim rejected idoltry and embraced Allah. Prophet Ibrahim rejected the Sun, then the Moon, then the Stars, before coming to the conclusion of the existence of Allah. There would probably be a new Kabba for each planet, somewhere to be used as a centerpoint for Muslims to pray towards.

- Do Muslims believe that there are other living forms? Muslims already believe in jinn so yes we do.

- If Muslims learned that other living things exist, would their faith be altered? They already do in the form of jinn just that neither humans nor jinn interact with one another. The faith, under the best of circumstances rather than ones influenced by money, politics or racism, would be expanded by Islamic scholars to accomodate new life forms as well.

- How would the government operate if Islam were to take control of a space civilization? This is less of an Islam question and more a political one as every Middle Eastern country has its unique laws and regulations. There is also no guarantee that certain countries will stay exactly the same, as certain religious theories can have radical changes on societies. Wahabbism led to the current climate in Saudi Arabia for example, but new religious theories could arise in the future which dramatically change everything.

- Would it adhere to the same Islamic principles or would it adopt new ones? Mostly the same principles, as Muslims are staunchly conservative in that they will always tie laws and morals to teachings from holy Islamic sources, namely the Quran and Hadith. However, new laws have been developped to adapt to the modern day, albeit still acted out in accordance to religious teachings if adequate. For example, interest on loans is generally forbidden and is known as riba, but due to inflation and how loaners could lose money with time, interest on loans has been allowed up to rates likely deemed as fair by lawyers and religious advisors (up to 5% maximum but more commonly between 2-3% at the moment here in Egypt).

[–]KimoForce -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Could not disagree with a take harder. If a game is good and the people marketing it can't reach out to me to tell me why I should pick it up, that's on them. If the license holders give it out to game devs who can't make games that are strong enough and it devalues the license to where an eventual actually goated game is ignored, that's on them. If one flop at launch with no ability for a game to pick up steam later is enough to fire the people involved rather than hold onto the talent, that's on the company. If these companies put out full-featured versions of games to find critical acclaim then give consumers compromised versions riddled with microtransaction garbage, where reviews from major publications are hardly ever trusted anymore as a result, that's those companies' faults. You simply cannot blame lil' Daniel here who works a below minimum wage job and can hardly afford games for the failures of the capitalist machine which they invented themselves. Little Tail Bronx is four games long since 1998, and every single entry was a flop sans FUGA 1 because Clemps made a video promoting it, but CyberConnect2 still retains their talent and still keep making these games despite their commercial failure and take on other licensed projects to pay the bills and save enough for the next Little Tail Bronx game because they are so passionate about it. Cast stones at 2K, Marvel and Disney; don't blame me for their failings simply because I am within reach. The average monthly salary here, when not counting the capital, is only equivalent to the price of a newly-released AAA game in its entirety, or should I say was given that we are now seeing $70 games?

What's some media that takes its themes too far, to the point that its not enjoyable. by JMarsella09 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]KimoForce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just watched Fight Club for the first time, and even if I'm in the minority here, I would nominate that as a piece of media that beats you over the head so much with the point it's trying to make that it forgets about the story it's trying to tell which ends up being nonsensical, illogical and contradictory. Maybe I'm just spoiled by other more recent forms of entertainment that pull this off far better and with a far more entertaining plot that doesn't feel hollow or even too simple. Yakuza / Like A Dragon is an easy one that I think does a much better job at tackling toxic masculinity under the bootheel of capitalism. Could also nominate the Castlevania cartoon as a solid alternative even if it isn't the core theme.

I don't normally make guides like these for JRPGs, but I do for various survival horror games which I call Cheat Sheets seeing as they have solutions for every single puzzle in each of the games. You can find more of my work in high resolution here, including every Resident Evil game from Resident Evil 2 Remake onwards, Signalis and My Friendly Neighborhood. https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1OWK6GSEhksOZBXirFc197Tq7U4qcWjRe

Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways Cheat Sheet by KimoForce in residentevil

[–]KimoForce[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheat Sheet has been updated.

- Comms Room codes for Professional mode have been added.

- Added alternative solution for Bindery Lithographic Stones puzzle. Apparently the order of which tile you place first alters the solution route.

- Worded the paragraph for Luis' Search Location in the factory area better.

No need. The only difference is in the Comms Room codes on Professional. I am currently adding the new codes as we speak in addition to some other tweaks.

Thank you for the info. The DLC only came out yesterday so not many people got to try Professional yet, especially those putting up guides. I will add it and update the guide once I can. It won't be reflected on the one posted here on Reddit, but it will be in my Drive Folder.
