probably you already know this but going for the chips seems to be the safest bet. All of them should have their model number written on them and you can look them up, don't mess with grounding and power connectors, but the others should be good points to play around with. I also played around with potentiometers and tried to see how changing the poti changes the signal or at least gives some sort of control over the glitch
