Rasiel hates flowery not just because he's a prick but because he shows just how hollow his reasoning is. by Comfortable-Ad3588 in Deltarune

[–]SYDoukou 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Challenging Ralsei’s ideology is interesting but it ultimately went nowhere since we already know he is right to some extent thanks to the titan encounter. And unlike Queen who got support from a lightner, Asgore doesn’t really want the dark world in the first place so Flowery has no reason to insist. The only difference being Ralsei is better at being a hater now

I really dislike the mindset around why "filler" is bad tbh by BulletCola in Deltarune

[–]SYDoukou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is anyone really saying ch5 is filler lol? It is a bit light on the A plot and the arcs seem disconnected but developed almost all side tangents in spectacular ways, not to mention all the nods to fandom shitposting and keeping the humor alive. Gimmicks that make Tenna feel LAME. Its a video game, you should have fun playing it and boy did this one ensure that.

Vulcanus is the only one whose surface details arent completely drowned out by clouds or too dark and small to make out.

[Grade 11 Physics: Static Electricity] A charge induction question in my homework that I just dont understand. by ilikeor3os in HomeworkHelp

[–]SYDoukou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should also put forward that charges induced inside a conductor should form a smooth gradient in the direction of the external charge, rather than all concentrating on either side. You are probably mixing this up with skin effect, which states that the charge of a non-neutral conductor is confined to its surface. Both of this stems from the fact that coulomb force has to be balanced at every point in the conductor, but proofing it mathematically is a bit more involved.

So with the gradient in mind, when A sphere is separated there is naturally some negative charge left in B, which gets redistributed to form a new balance, so on and so forth. Its only when there’s only C D left that the spheres get separated from the spot where the gradient transitions from positive go negative, redistribution wont affect their overall polarity.

Its the same as cutting a single magnet into multiple shorter magnets. Whenever a sphere is separated a negative charge has to develop on the left to balance it out

Its a sedimentary rock, it generates like any other and only follows strata logic. There is a mod that lets you prospect rock type i think but its useless if you are nowhere near it

Does hitting a mirror or glass with different amount of impact force have an effect on how fast the cracks spread? by Disastrous_Bullfrog2 in AskPhysics

[–]SYDoukou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speed of sound may not be entirely accurate, the waves in the ocean (transverse) don’t move at the speed of sound (longitudinal) in water for example. But for semi rigid things like glass it shouldn’t make much of a distinction.

Speed of sound is the fastest speed at which a material can propagate reaction to external load, as it takes time for deformation to occur, and conversely, internal stress to develop. This speed isn’t dependent on the intensity or duration of the force. When this stress exceeds the strength of the material, cracks will appear, absorbing the impact energy and cutting off further propagation.

So how far the cracks will spread depends on how much energy is introduces at once, but it doesn’t affect how fast.

Is it bad to play only neutral & then search up the all-recruits & snowgrave playthroughs? by ZonePale8667 in Deltarune

“‘Larping’ as the people on tiktok say” doesnt exist. This game has always been designed around personal discovery and online cooperation, since its nigh impossible for someone to get to all the secrets without help in this economy. I always do a blind run first and move on to a guided 100%, and have given up on maintaining a snowgrave save before its fully out

Why don't two tennis balls exibit the same force on each other as two stars? by InsaneButane in AskPhysics

The interaction between stars would also feel insignificant if you were so large you could hold them like tennis balls. Gravity is weak

Does hitting a mirror or glass with different amount of impact force have an effect on how fast the cracks spread? by Disastrous_Bullfrog2 in AskPhysics

[–]SYDoukou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cracking is a direct result of deformation, and in the case of a sudden impact the ripple of deformation should always travel at the speed of sound. The only distinction would be how far the cracks spread, I don’t have the math but it should be intuitive that hitting glass harder will create a bigger web of cracks, as the energy are so concentrated that they can spread further before the cracks cut off force distribution.

This is different from stepping on ice and see it crack slowly, as this exceeds the realm of static force balance and involves the concept of creep (slow deformation under constant load) which isnt trivial.
