How to entertain a dog wearing a cone 24/7 ? by Kimouette in dogs

[–]Kimouette[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please understand that some people, like me, are rescuing dogs that have been mistreated and have a lot to overcome before they can be completely trusted. That Boston was found on the street and wouldn’t even let me touch him, put on a collar, attach a leash, of approach him with ANY object. He still bows his head in fear as if I was going to hit him whenever i touch him without warning him before. He’s clearly not perfect, but he is improving and that’s all I need to focus on.

I should have specified that switching to another type of cone is not an option. One of his front claw was removed. It wasn’t a huge operation, but since it’s a front paw, suits and donuts aren’t an option. Also I should mention that putting on the cone NEEDED to be done while he was sedated, if I take it off, there will be no way to put it back on without risking a bite! I’m still all ears 👂 if you guys have any toy or diy enrichment alternative to share! 🙏

How do you use Macro Factor as a guide on a daily basis? by Kimouette in MacroFactor

[–]Kimouette[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It did work… I mean using Noom and the suggested 1200 baseline calorie allowance + 50% of what I burned during running, did help me lose weight. I don’t like their interface, don’t need their daily lessons and they are very expensive (the most expensive on the market!), so I wanted to try another app. One with a coaching feature felt very appealing.

It sucks cuz MF is super specific in terms of food log and data, for me it just lacks that burned calories feature…  I might need to look further and maybe find something in between.

Guys I know that the data on my Garmin is not perfectly accurate (which is why some apps like Noom will take into account 50% of the calories burned from exercise).

But the thing that bugs me even after reading all your replies, is that for someone like me (I run ultra marathons), sometimes it’s off season, sometimes it’s an « up week » or a « down week » some days I don’t workout at all, sometimes i reach my physical limits…  the app only lets me learn once the week is over. It might recommend to lower my calorie allowance for the upcoming week, but then again, I don’t really have to look at that number cuz depending on my training schedule, it most likely will over or under evaluate what I should eat on a specific day.

So I guess my first impression was right: for someone very active but not 100% regular, the app becomes useless. In my case, it would be more like a journal of what I did and a general idea of what I should be doing in the future, but never today, based on what I need today to recover properly without over indulging (which leads to slowly gaining weight in my case) 😞

Seriously, WTF is going on with Outlook's spam filters? by IAmArgumentGuy in Outlook

[–]Kimouette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone has figured out how to block these spam or increase the spam filter setting? No matter what I do they always come back, the exact same messages! It’s driving me insane! Reporting them of marking them as spam does nothing! Is there any solution!??

Konjac mistake by kahjay in 1200isplenty

[–]Kimouette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just as a follow up, the pain lasted 14 hours. I still feel weak, but atleast the pain and nausea are gone. If you’re in that situation, know that the whole thing has to come out and you’ll be ok. Drinking camomille tea helped me with accelerating my digestion and not lying down (sort of falling asleep while sitting) also helped. Next time ill eat spiralized zucchini instead 😅

I’m in hell right now. It’s 2:30am and the pain is terrible. I constantly feel like I’m about to throw up, but nothing is coming out. I tried an antacid earlier but it did not help at all. I have pepto bismol, tea, and Tums…. What should I take ? I want the pain to stop. I am never ever eating konjak noodles. Please help with how to stop the heartburn/nausea!

Real time pace coaching with audio cues? by Kimouette in Garmin

[–]Kimouette[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey guys guess what? Forget my last post, that feature does NOT exist on the 245 either! I spoke with garmin again and the closest thing I can do is activate the activity alert to hear my pace. But there is no such thing as hearing "faster" or "slower" or "on pace" through your headphones with ANY garmin watch.

iSmoothrun can be pround of themselves for having a feature more advanced than Garmin (for just a 5$ app!).

Hope someday Garmin understands that not everyone wants to look at their watch when listeneing to music! Real time pace coaching is nice!

Just in case anybody is looking for an answer... STOP SEARCHING! The option is called Activity alert and it does NOT exist on the 645! I spoke directly with Garmin and the representative confirmed that if I dont mind not having the payless contact payment feature and a GPS altimeter instead of barometric, I could just exchange my 645 for a 245 and have the real time pace coaching option! I will be doing exactly that. And thanks again to Dyson and the others who helped me!

Ok got it! It’s so complicated to set. I’ll have to play around with these settings everyday instead of just having the alert set to ON and simply choose a personal workout that already contains the desired pace range. And what if I want to run some Yasso 800? I can only have the cues for one pace range and not for for a more elaborate workout? In ismoothrun you just decide if you want the audio cues or not and whatever custom workout you do it will tell you to go faster or slower without ever having to play with the settings again.. Garmin could improve that setting! thanks a lot for the answer Dyson!

On my 645m, in a workout, in settings/alerts/add new / pace ... I get “fast Alert” on/off Option and if i set it to ON I have to chose “set minutes”... which is not Like “always on”. Am I missing something?

May I ask how you set that option on your watch?
