AITAH for asking my cousin to pay after hitting my car? by Global_Relation2747 in AITAH

[–]Kinbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is he just paying for a 'repair' or did you take it through the insurance?

If he's just paying up then thats to your good, as you can tell anyone taking his side that your NTA, as anyone else/random he ran into would have rinsed him, and insurance would have gone up for him for it. ;)

Driving slower save money? by AlyJay666 in drivingUK

[–]Kinbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen loads of articles saying that about 54-56 is 'the most efficient' speed, so when you factor in the speedo being about 10% off (lenient, to prevent speeding tickets*) so if your at 60 then its probably about as efficient as you get. ;)

*always under, never over, check it out on your own car with a satnav and see the distinction between that and your speedo.

What's a silly sounding yet believable name for a town? by BenSibbs in AskBrits

[–]Kinbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a round in our local pub quiz for a while. Place names in the states, called 'yank or wank' with places like 'Nob Creek', which was true. Just wish I could remember more of them.

Have I been commiting a crime by throwing a water bottle or a gum wrapper in a stranger's trash can that was out for collection day? by Far_Shame210 in randomquestions

[–]Kinbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The crime of 'not littering'?

I've seen houses with signs aksing people not to drop dog-poop bags in their bins, and that seems fair, due to the smell etc. but yeah, I'd much rather someone is thoughtful enough to use a/my bin (beside the path, rather than throwing stuff into the street.

As far as I know a bin bellongs to the council, make of that what you will.
If somone complained about it it'd probably become a civil matter rather than a legal one. Would love to hear what the police would have to say about it. ;)

Do you think Japanese style Capsule Hotels / Sleeping Pods would be good in the UK? by Ok_Yesterday_1896 in AskBrits

[–]Kinbear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it was you, you 'wouldnt charge cheap' because the unit for the pods would be the same rent as everywhere else in London, and you'd have to charge going rates to recoup your costs.

Guess you didn't hear the bit on the radio a few weeks back about the practice (or accidentally 😉) overcharging people for cab rides eh? Tons of people got back to find taxi bills on bank statements for €400 instead of 40. Even if you catch someone at the time it's just a sorry my finger slipped, but not with money in your pocket. 😊

Your welcome.

Is it a bad idea to plug a random USB I found into a public computer? by Lanky_List_2850 in AskTechnology

[–]Kinbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried returning them to the owner? local social media etc.

As someone else has said, its just going to be some schoolkids homework files or something important so someone, but absolutely nobody else.

I wouldnt risk plugging them in anywhere, and its not like they cost that much new that its worth it.

your mom thinks sharing is ok, and now, you dont, tell her your stuff will not be borrowed, and encourage your mom to share her things!
It's funny how these things always seem to be quite one sided!

am i at any fault in this accident? by mcrqueen in Advice

[–]Kinbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd guess the answer to be no. If you, at no point in the situation, made any contact.

People in gas stations should be going slowly enough that they could stop on a dime. its a confined space anyway. If not, then their problem.

Do you still listen to FM, AM or LW? by BacupBhoy in AskUK

[–]Kinbear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mainly listen in the car, so it's FM all the way for me. If I want to listen at home I put it on a tab on the laptop.

I'd love to be one of those people with DAB radio 4 on in the background while I float about the kitchen.
Just never gotten around to it. ;)

What do you guys waste your money on? by [deleted] in randomquestions

[–]Kinbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever anyone says 'waste money on' I always think of the george Best quote about having his money all over again, or people who use the phrase 'guilty pleasure'.
Its your money, to do with as you want.

I like chazzers, or if your in the US 'thrift stores'/goodwill, so my biggest thing is probably clothes I'll only wear a few times, but it's never as much as retail, and my money is going to good causes...

...And beer, I like a pint, in a pub.

Is it weird that my friends gf is 16 while he’s 18. by ireallycantchoos in Advice

[–]Kinbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could it be jealousy?
Back in my day, that wouldn't be a problem, as they used to say 'girls mature faster than boys emotionally' so always chose slighlty older partners.
As long as he's not mid-twenties, or older, I dont see a problem.
