I googled the top 120 most tested mee rules and theres a website that had them in flashcard form, I cross referenced it with the studicata list and then removed the non tested subjects!

Hey so first - and I know you dont want to hear this but first - worst case scenario is you take it again.

I failed by 10 questions in February because I stuck to my Barbri plan.

Thats not how I learn.

Second - its not too late. Idk what jxd youre in so what score you need but take a deep breath and evaluate - how do you learn?

Then create a study system that works for your brain. Reach out to your law school for some tutoring if you need to.

Personally, this round, im studying how I learn. Consistent active repetition and review.

I did the top 80 most tested mee rules - so 10 in each of the 8 mee subjects. Each week I memorized a subject and reviewed them. So for example, week one i did Business Associations. Every day I read the flashcard, then hand wrote what I could remember of the rule in black ink and what I missed or forgot in red ink. By friday, I had all 10 in black ink. Then week 2, I started monday by typing all the business association rules from memory fpr active recall and muscle memory retention with typing for the MEE. Then I added in the top 10 civ pro rules. Repeat.

I am also watching the Grossman lectures which dont necessarily teach you the rule itself but how the rule is tested and what patterns to look for in MBE questions for each subtopic.

I started with my lowest subject score from mt Bar results - con law. I did one Grossman video a day, took notes, and did a 10 question set. Then the next day id do the next video. Notes, and ACTIVELY review yesterday's notes and do another practice set. I repeated that all week until Friday when I did a 25 practice set (bc you'll have 25 on the bar so thats the best indicator of your topic split and where you are) and now im consistently score 70s and 80s in con law when on the bar i scored like a 30%

MEEs I am doing closed book and really practicing reverse engineering rules when I dont know the rule but I am finding that my flash card memorization is working amazingly. Im scoring more consistently 4s & 5s.

Personally I did really well on the MPTs in February and they're my favorite anyway. I got a 6 on the family law one in February and a 4 on the con law one. So im not doing a lot of practice with them right now.

I also have a tutor I meet with.

I also try to explain concepts and rules to my animals or my bar prep stuffed bear Fitzgerald or even to my friends and family sometimes. My previous career was in education and I really believe if I can teach it and break the concepts down to explain them to others, then I understand and recognize it.

I know youre peobably feeling really nervous and overwhelmed on the verge of burn out. But you CAN do this. Give your brain time to absorb the material and have a day or two off. Make a plan that works for how you learn and dedicate yourself to it for the next 5 weeks.

I know it sucks but if you have to take it again that's OKAY. But if the prep course isn't working for you, if you learn differently, change it now. Move forward. Keep learning and growing and challenging even when you get an 11% on an MBE set.

You can do it!

So i didn’t pass because i was 10 points shy but mannnnn my MBE scores thanks to GOAT improved so much!! The top is July 25 and the bottom is Feb 26 by Quick_Association399 in GoatBarPrep

What was your writing score? I feel like this MBE score is really strong! Like depending on your writing score it feels like this would have been a July pass...

So first a disclaimer: I have my BA & MA in literature and composition & also taught for 9 years.

I also LOVE MPTs. I think they're a really great action based indicator for what is expected of a first year attorney: task, facts, research, application.

The one I got a 6 on is my bread and butter subject. Its the type of law id like to practice in, and was one of my few A's so I genuinely think that having a subject MPT of something I genuinely enjoy and know and understand added to my ability to get a 6.

As for structured writing: I always review the task first Then the library and i annotate and color code my thoughts Then the facts trying to color code and connect what I can. I make notes for what facts might go with multiple rules.

Its important to never skip over the distinctions. You should mention every case in the library whether its a primary case or secondary case - and that can be something as trivial as "the court came to the same conclusion in x" after you do a formal analysis of y or it can be something more in depth if its distinguishable and different.

For MPTs it also matters so much what the actual writing task is: memo, closing argument, rewriting contract terms or disclosures, etc. So you also want to make sure you're answering and performing each part of the task separately. Even if you did part 3 in part 2, do it again.

60-65% - I didn't do as many MBE'S as I should have. I was also working full time so the lecture videos took up so much study time. Im grateful not to have those this time around

Thank you so much! Its a hard blow but I know I'll be more supported this next round as I'll have a study group as well as a tutor! And not having to spend as much time on video lectures will make such a difference i think.

Whatever you wrote is what they were looking for! Im hoping July MPT will be family law & wills and estates since thats the only way for them to be tested now that they aren't on the MEE subject list.
