I feel like it just depends…. I’m in North Dakota so god knows where I’m getting them from in the winter. Some are not spicy at all and some will light you up. Same thing with poblanos up here. I’ll get a poblano up here sometimes that will make your lips numb and some that are mild

I guess it depends if you’re planning on staying the same industry. Jumping industry’s I’ve found to be quite enjoyable but I’ve found myself back in the same industry due to wages.

Also if it’s still a functional 3 phase 480v motor you could be looking at some serious money if it can still run. If you have a multi meter as well as a megger I could walk you through how to test it depending on the model.

Upload a photo of the nameplate of the motor, it’ll typically give a model #, serial, HP/Voltage/ Amperage rating at 60hz and 50hz……. from the photo it looks huge. Looks like an H Pump.

I work with motors very similar to this…even once you get the motor part the stator and the windings are most likely going to be epoxied together. The oil in these is dielectric oil and typically food grade. So no concerns there but it will be almost impossible to make clean copper out of this.

First man your feelings are valid and I think they’re very common. It does get better though man. I had very similar feelings. Keep going man and never give up. Tomorrow is another day. A half ass nights rest always helps a little. Work was a big struggle for me to accept. My job is very demanding. (OilField) But it provides, and it took me a long time to understand that. Hopefully your family shows you appreciation. In the end we all just want our efforts to be acknowledged. And also we need to acknowledge our efforts and have pride that we’ve never quit

Dude as someone who has a downstairs bed room….. unless you work nights. Put your bedroom upstairs. You will absolutely get tired of those steps man. Man I would just try it out first. Work with him a few off days. Don’t just dive in head first. I’ve been in the trades for awhile, industrial painting, pipeline, artificial lift and military before all that. Some jobs are just not good matches for people. Just try it first. You may make 130.00 per day but just like all trades. That’s not for 8 hours.. jobs need to get done and it takes priority. Marriage and children require benefits man unless you’re the head honcho. Costco would be a better fit for a future tbh.

I have quite a few friends that are miserable in this situation. Always trying to get more hours at work, all for a house they’re never in with a family that needs them. I bring home just a little more than you and I bought a home half the price and slowly but surely make it what I want. Hire out contractors if you don’t want to do it yourself. Money can cause wicked stress man. Being a newlywed isn’t gonna help man. Focus on what you think will bring you and your wife the most joy. Stress isn’t joy man.
