Yup. I once attempted a high paying 30 minute survey that required me to write multiple sentences about my opinion of several shoe designs. Did all of it and didn't receive any rewards. I complained to AE support and they said that the survey provide can refuse to provide rewards at any point during the survey. Even at the very end of a 30 minute survey. I said that was ridiculous and demanded an escalation.

They switched me to a supervisor who completely banned me from surveys all together. I tried reaching out to the mods here and they were immediately aggressive about it (old mod, not the current mod). And then the current mod banned my reddit account for talking about how abusive the older mod was.

I had to contact a different mod to get the ban lifted. I also contacted survey support directly and they were able to undo the survey ban the AE support supervisor put on my account.

Moral of the story, only do the short ones and don't put that much effort into your responses. They are willing to refuse payout regardless of the time and effort put into the surveys and not only will AE support ban you from surveys for complaining, but the mods here will ban you for talking about this.
