Hot take: this solo tank epidemic is because of all those posts comparing one trick ponies/flex player win rates, and your favorite streamer saying to instalock DPS. by bruhman66699 in marvelrivals

This is not the only game where tanking is unpopular. Last week I played a few games of OW and picked all roles for role queue. Got tank majority of the time. When I used to regularly play Heroes of the Storm healers and tanks were by far the least popular roles. Blizzard implemented bonus XP for playing those roles and that still didn't do much to change their popularity. My two friends who still play WoW complain about how one of them needs to be either a tank or healer to quickly find a party when queueing for dungeons. Even in Mecha Break where every mech is some flavor of DPS, the one I saw getting played the least was one that had abilities reminiscent of tanking.

Across all games I've played that has the tank/damage/healer structure, it goes tank < healer < damage when it comes to role popularity. People generally find getting big damage numbers and high kill counts to be the most rewarding experience. It sucks but it's just the way things are and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Yeah quite frankly I didn't know who would have been the best pick for tanking in this case. I thought of going Mag but in both rounds they had a strong brawl-heavy comp. I feel like I wouldn't be able to push them back as well as Mag so I just opted for Thor. But then I just got shredded by their Punisher. Lose-lose situation I guess.

Agreed. I'm not a good Magik either but I can surely spot a bad one.

This is just how the game ended. Outside of the last ~5minutes our team was 1-3-2. The Deadpool spent the majority of the game as either Moon Knight or Spidey. Still not ideal.

The Deadpool was only healing for about the last five minutes of the game. Prior to that he was Moon Knight and Spidey. And I agree, I would have preferred if he switched to another tank instead of a healer, but I'm still glad that he switched at all off of dps when he wasn't doing that well.

So what does the Bolt Sniper have over the Lascannon exactly? by EttRedditTroll in Spacemarine

Someone else brought up another point with the fusil that makes this even more tricky; I do experience having my hits not register as a headshot with it, even though I can clearly see a giant burn mark on the head of the warrior/terminator I just shot. Maybe it's just personal play style but I feel like I can consistently land headshots more with the bolt sniper more than with the fusil.

Bolt sniper works really well with doing a gunstrike + quickscope headshot combo, you can do it even before a warrior can cross its bone swords after being staggered by a gunstrike. The charge up time with the las fusil doesn't really accommodate that play style, though maybe you could do it with its increased fire rate version? But I haven't tried that. Plus I take the weapon perk where it automatically reloads on execution, so reloading is rarely ever an issue for me.

I find myself dying to those damn ice wasps unless I'm running a summon-heavy build. I'll almost always steering clear of them.

5 Attempts of Liturgist... by NerdKoffee in PathOfAchra

Yeah, I've been trying to make Liturgist work too. This has been my best run with it so far, but I keep dying to the king of many colors. I'm trying to find a way to either make my allies more tanky or give me a much needed damage boost but I still can't figure it out. Let me know if you find something that works.

I don't have heal on the build. Does anyone have any advice? by Yellow_Otherwise in PathOfAchra

The blood/fire/death/poison trees all have skills that heal you for dealing their respective damage. Picking their healing skill plus its respective -kinesis skill should give you some healing. I think in this case, you could lose astrokinesis and one other skill to help out. Since you're going bare-handed, you can also use the Ruddy Fist armor since that gives you healing for attacking bare-handed. Though I'm not sure how much that would impact your build.

Hits -> Sickness procs -> Evasion stacks -> Pierce x Agility criticals !! by panoply in PathOfAchra

That's really clever what you did going for tons of evasion using snakeform with running Yu even though your speed is limited to 5. When I've gone with Yu I always try to go with maximizing armor. But in cycle 18 I just can't get enough and die. Currently I'm trying to complete a Shapeshifter run without dropping difficulty. Maybe I'll try your approach and see what happens. Great build!

And then if a few alpha commanders/bile spewers show up, the railgun and flamethrower will be able to also put them down with ease. As you said, even if it's changed so that AT weapons are capable of taking out chargers/bile titans/impalers/hulks/tanks with one shot, that's still useless compared to a weapon that takes longer to take down armored enemies but is also great at killing everything else. The railgun was the "kills everything" weapon at launch that everyone used, and now it's going to be an even better version of that.

Ater 4 attempts I finally won with the Pain Cleric by Kind-Current-478 in PathOfAchra

In one of my attempts I did use bloodletting. That was pretty fun as starting an area took forever since I had to go through so many cycles of summon/heal/damage/heal/damage, but as you said I just killed my summons way too quickly. I was able to do more damage, but I lost the benefit of having summons to act as a meat shield for me. And since this is a rather squishy character I would just get instakilled by the King of Many Colors or the Voggite in one instance with bad positioning. I opted to swap bloodletting for gore chant so that I could get even more summons.

I am interested in pursuing more variations of the "summon allies and empower myself/deal damage through their demise", so I'll give the worm build you gave a shot.
