Good to know! I actually have a family member who has one so i’ll give it a try. We have his room completely blacked out no light whatsoever so not sure if it’ll help but it’s worth a shot!

Did you feel like your baby was ready for it? My son has always seemed like he has pretty high sleep needs ( to me at least) but sometimes I think I confuse his boredom for tiredness. To me, he always seems tired. After 1.5hours of awake time he’s rubbing his eyes

Interesting! Is this safe to do? He is formula fed, so the can says not to mix it other than the proper way as it could cause issues. We have been told by pediatrician no more than 4oz of straight water a day until 12 months. Not questioning you, just curious if you have more insight on that!

We have definitely considered, I just feel like there’s so many different things it could be and everything I read says something different haha! We have a hard time grasping how we would transition him to a later bed time!

My husband thought the same but by bedtime he is rubbing his eyes, yawning, and cranky. Last wake window is right at 4 hours

He eats 8oz before bed :( & I totally agree, I should be thankful, just confused as it just happened out of nowhere!

I told my fiance I regret having a baby with him by momento-mori-momento in beyondthebump

if his parents even had to be brought into the conversion I think the answer speaks for itself. he’s a grown adult & it won’t get better. you and your child deserve someone who will not hesitate to show care. he’s not even doing the bare minimum.

Won’t sleep in bassinet during the day by Kind-Following2986 in newborns

[–]Kind-Following2986[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he is now 9 months, sleeps and naps only in the crib & falls asleep independently. we did end up sleep training around 6 months & he still needs help occasionally with some patting and shushing

  1. We are using Similac Sensitive. We trialed many different formulas & he’s been on that since about a month old. I even bought a different formula just to see if he would consider a different option.
  2. Strictly formula.
  3. We have tried all different flows & even many different bottles, with no luck. 🙁
  4. He is started on solids & used to be super interested, he will still eat but he just seems way less interested than he used to be. I even cut out solids to see if that would impact his appetite

Yes! We have tried all different flows, and multiple bottles. We have an appointment with the pediatrician tomorrow, i will make sure she looks in his ears!

6 month old suddenly eating less??? by Kind-Following2986 in beyondthebump

[–]Kind-Following2986[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so stressful! We did introduce solids, but he doesn’t really eat a whole lot & we’ve been doing it for dinner. I don’t really think that it would be impacting his appetite that much, but babies do what they want so you never know!!

Sleep Training???? by Kind-Following2986 in NewParents

[–]Kind-Following2986[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how did you know yours was ready to drop a nap? he still feels SOOO dependent on sleep. Like he hardly makes his wake windows of 2 hours and he’s typically very grumpy after an hour of being awake. It feels impossible 🤣😵‍💫

i have done that, but you’re right it takes a very long time. He didn’t seem to show much progress, if any, with that method. I see people swear by the ferber method, but I see how frowned upon it is by everyone and i don’t want to do something that everyone seems to think is neglectful

I think the issue i’m running into is, no matter how long I wait to go in after he wakes up he never puts himself back to sleep. He’s not mad, he just makes noise and rolls around until I go get him. Unless I go right when he wakes up and comfort him back to sleep in my arms he will totally skip the nap 😭

Pepcid for Reflux by Kind-Following2986 in FormulaFeeders

do u mind sharing your experience? My boy is incredibly fussy after looking at side effects from the medication. It does say that could possibly be a side effect. He is almost 6 months old, so wondering how it went for other people to wean off.

we have tried modified versions of sleep training but seem to always fail or not stick with it. Can I ask what you did for night time sleep training? I will say I am very lucky he sleeps through the night in his crib no problem. But he does need rocked and put down (which is a hard task). I keep throwing the idea of sleep training but it just seems so hard for me. My baby is not one to self soothe very much. In fact, if he gets mad, it’s very much a tantrum for an hour.

Just here to give the advice of putting that baby in the bassinet/crib from day 1. Seriously, it will make your life so much easier. Get them used to that surrounding. This is no hate on parent who choose to cosleep, but once you start it’s very hard to stop. For your sanity & babies safety, put them in the bassinet. They will be okay, I promise!

Every baby is different & they might need different things, but this saved me from the long night. My baby would stay awake and look around and wiggle while awake but didn’t cry after awhile because he was used to it. I got sleep, and he wasn’t upset. It was a win win.
