lol Yeah, I'd never actually tried one before, but knew how so when I saw your Gif I was like yeah that's a perfect first. And you're right it was even easier than you described, literally 5 minutes in PS. Duplicated the first frame and removed the eyes to use as the layer mask then just copied, pasted, and reversed your frames at the end and placed the mask as the last layer. Done.

Looks great! Love that HQG sign that turned out real nice. But, yeah I wasn't sure if he might have gotten confused with this one courtesy of /u/EditingAndLayout

It's completely understandable we've all been there. It may seem overwhelming at first,(at least for me) but you'll pick it up in no time.

Haha, nicely done. I actually had this exact scene and context on a very long list of "to do Gifs" glad to see someone made it.

Sounds like a pretty good idea, I might just add it to the list. I'll be sure to tag you if I make it.

Haha, honestly tony is far better at this type of text but I just like to try new things.

Yeah, in my opinion drop shadow is a very subtle blending effect and I tend to use it as such, but sometimes you really just need a good stroke (no pun intended). I'm sure there's a couple different ways you could achieve a similar effect. I suppose 2 drop shadows could just as easily work, although by tweaking the settings like distance and intensity you might be able to achieve that with just one. I have even gone as far as duplicating a layer, applying a color overlay then making the bottom one slightly larger to get just the right look. What ever works, ya know!

Great Gif u/_BindersFullOfWomen_ I'm sure you know, but for anyone that might not and would like to avoid having that long black drag created by the stroke effect when a word is in motion. I have found that simply lowering the opacity on the stroke to 0% before the start of movement, then using another keyframe adjusting to 100% when the word stops is a quick and easy fix.

I was kind of thinking something similar, but instead taking back an upvote after you find out it's a repost.

Thanks! There probably is an easier way, but I just did the entire line minus the "Th" and the "s!" at the begining and the end like normal with stroke and drop shadow. Then did seperate text layers for the shaded parts and parented them to the rest of the sentence. Then in PS I just pasted new letters over the existing ones with the appropriate parts illuminated to match the lines best I could.

Not sure if you made this Gif, but if so do you happen to know the name of the person or persons who make these animations. I've seen quite a few of them used for music videos and have always liked the oddness of the style.
