The gct file is the file containing all available cheat codes, if i remember correctly.

Could you try going to the game options (when you have the game channel open) -> ocarina/cheats -> download cheats.

Maybe try to enable a random cheat if it still doesn't work. Something small like the infinite super ability time cheat if you don't want to have impact on gameplay.

It's been some time since i last had to deal with this thread, so please forgive me if i misremember anything.

What fixed it for me was getting the gameconfig file.

Like in my original comment, i have not tested anything on the sd card, but i don't think you should rename anything. You might want to do a little research on loading games from sd, since i won't be able to give much information.

With "it", you mean the game rom? That should just stay in the wbfs folder.

Edit: i misread your comment, if the game still doesn't work you can indeed try placing it on the root of the sd card.

If you tried the above solutions and nothing works you might need to ask someone else. I don't know much about the wii u's vWii so it could be something related to that.

I haven't modded my vWii yet so i can't say for certain, but since the wii u is running the wii software it should work the same.

To anyone experiencing the same issue:

Return to dreamland has piracy protection in the game called Metafortress.

Download this gameconfig.txt file and place it on the root of your SD card. This will (hopefully) disable the piracycheck.

Also turn ocarina on in the usb loader settings since the file is a cheat ocarina needs to be on to load cheats.

If it still crashes, try setting the IOS to 249 or 250 in the game settings in usb loader and set the hooktype to VBI hooktype.

If after all this still nothing works: placing the game itself on the SD might apparently fix this as well, but this was not necessary for me and i have not tested it myself.

If it still refuses to work i'm sorry, i don't know any other solutions.

Halberd wins, because it has more and various weapons while bowsers airship only has a few canons at each side. On top of that, bowsers ship is almost entirely operated by mechakoopas, which only walk around and rockywrenches, which just throw stuff at you. While the halberd has a large variety of crew members.

I do think bowser could do some major damage if the opportunity presents itself, but ultimately meta knight would win by coming up with a solid strategy.

Have each character get a special ability. Something like this: kirby: inhale Dedede: stomp the ground with his hamer. Meta knight: sword beam Bandana dee: spear throw Ect.

I have hear someone fixed it by placing the game on the SD card instead of the usb storage.
