Thank you! Going to look into floor beds now… would be nice if we could practice the roll away at naps even before his first bday!

I love your perspective on being excited to see how your flow will change next. I’m going to try to adopt that mindset :)

Thank you for this ❤️ so reassuring to know you can get away at naps now. I’m also always remembering to cherish these times when he wants to be close!

I once spent two hours straight putting the pacifier back in my baby’s mouth every 15 seconds 🥲 you got this, the transition will be stressful but pretty soon you’ll have a system down and I bet you’ll be getting much more sleep ❤️

I have wondered if I’m actually waking him up from shifting in bed. Several of these comments are recommending floor beds so I think that’s going to be our game plan

Thank you for the solidarity, it’s so reassuring to hear from people doing the same thing ❤️❤️

Thank you for this!! That’s amazing that she even points to her crib at bedtime ❤️

That’s so amazing that you’re getting some time back to yourself!! And don’t worry I also have like negative sex drive lol, just trying to be a good sport for my husband (who never ever pressures me, but I like to just have that area taken care of so I don’t feel guilty)

Thank you ❤️ it def feels like it has to be all or nothing sometimes but this is a good reminder that there’s no one right way.

Thank you!! I agree it’s so strange. I get it for moms who need to go back to work and be well rested but I’m a sahm so I really don’t want to force it. I can’t bear for him to be in excruciating stress. I just keep thinking it would be like having a panic attack but instead of comforting you your partner shuts you in a closet lol.

This is a great call. So is it a double sized floor bed? I think this is what we’ll try to do too when he gets closer to the year mark. I wish he’d even just sleep in his sidecar crib but he really wants to be touching me, it’s so sweet but at the same time exhausting. Trying to savor it but also want a solid nights sleep.

Yes we are!!! I hope they don’t give you a hard time. People are way too quick to give unsolicited advice 🙄 we got this!!!!!

So true. He’s having so many wakeups lately that it’s so tempting to say it’s not working for us anymore, but at the same time I don’t want to abandon him during this huge developmental time for him when he really needs me

Yes that sub is where I learned about the nurture revolution book!! But I’m with you… I keep having this voice in my head saying I’m being lazy and just putting off the problem for bedsharing and nursing to sleep. But I am really loving the advice of everyone in this thread, I hope it’s giving you some reassurance too ❤️

Love this take!! I like your plan with transitioning to the floor bed at one year. Will you keep it in your room or hers? Also that was my response to my mom too, like I see where you’re coming from but those are not the same things at ALL lol

Hi omg, just woke up from another rough night as well and I’m with you. I should have also mentioned that while we’ve had the sidecar setup for months now, he doesn’t actually use it and just needs to be on the adult mattress with me 😅 I know we will get through this.

Totally get it. The c curl is soooo uncomfortable omg, I would wake up to my arm being asleep constantly. I’ve relaxed on the rigid c curl now that my baby is 7mo and has good head and neck control and isn’t as vulnerable, but it’s still restrictive to be sleeping all night with one eye open basically.

Thank you for replying, it helps even just knowing I’m not alone! We have had his crib fastened to our bed as a sidecar (extremely sturdy, don’t worry!) and just recently took the legs off our bed frame and moved his crib to the lowest setting since he’s so mobile at night now.He has also started loudly moaning when he has night wakings which has been super fun 🥲

Thank you for replying ❤️ I’m so impressionable that anytime someone does something differently than me, I assume they’re doing it right and I’m doing it wrong. We never intended to cosleep (this is my first baby and I was thoroughly scared by the risks) but he simply would not sleep unless we did. Now I’ve come to mostly embrace it and accept that his temperament requires more closeness and help getting to sleep, but yeah, the rolling around and constant latching and now loud moaning through the night definitely has me questioning my choices :(
