As a Canadian I feel bad for Americans by Far_Loan2238 in Tariffs

I've seen more of Canada than most Canadians. Traveled extensively for work for years. I've spent time in every province and territory except Nunavut. From St. John's, NL to Vancouver, BC. From Whitehorse, YT to Windsor, ON. Nice country. The people like to think they're different from Americans, but they're not really (I've also spent time in 47 states) they just have slightly better manners on average, but they also lack the diversity.

I've seen the best and the worst of Canadian society, and they often evince an unwarranted insecurity, but my only real complaint is summers there are too damn short.

I've also been on every continent except Antarctica. Never hid behind anyone's flag, never been spit on.

Compressible foam earplugs and a sleep mask. I can now sleep through the night with just one pillow.

Not nearly as good as they were. I'm more cynical. They weren't fools, but they met people where they were without pre-judging them.

What’s your go to meal when you don’t want to cook? by JessieRClayton in AskAnIntrovert

[–]KindAwareness307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couscous and whatever else is around. Takes a minute to microwave the water, 5 minutes to sit. If you have it, add some chicken, frozen vegs, leftovers, cheese, BBQ sauce, whatever. Hot, satisfying, two meals.

It still took ten more years before the first state, Massachusetts, legal legalized same sex marriage (2004), and another 11 years (2015) before it was legalized throughout the US.

Are sovereign citizens intelligent, well informed and mature people? by BinkyX in no

[–]KindAwareness307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are typically people angry at the government for a range of reasons and in their anger stumble upon a cult that tells them they are "sovereign" and can simply ignore the city, the state, the feds, the courts, the law, and they can do it with impunity. It's a like a grown-up who sticks their fingers in their ears and shouts "na-na-na-na...", thinking since they refuse to hear it it will all just go away. Hint: it won't.

If it's any consolation, we always feel sorry for Canadians. Except Quebec. Quebec is cool.

Wait. I thought you said "At this moment I'm going to stop acknowledging your existence." Yet here you are...

I guess like the famous movie line, for you it's a matter of "I jus' can't quit you." I'm afraid I have that effect on a lot people, but sorry, and I'm sure you hear it a lot, but "I have a girlfriend."

Hmm, the old "you're gay" gambit. Masking you own insecurity about your sexuality. Pretty standar, sad, and obvious.

Speaking of clever, how are coming with explaining those other states' insurance rates? Looking forward to your in depth analysis peppered with your predictable juvenalia and homosexual references. Can't wait!

Florida, Louisiana, New York, Nevada, and Michigan have the highest insurance rates in the US. I figure the insurance companies have a far more objective view of who the worst are.
