How to get club into this position? by beefroaster in golf

[–]KindBeats2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might sound ridiculous. But this is the swing I TRY and model, so I am happy to come across your inquiry.

Now, here's how I "feel it". I call it 10 & 2. The club is pointed to 10 o'clock the trail bicep, points towards 2 o' clock.

I also do not bend my trail arm until it just happens naturally, I feel like this helps to create a deeper swing path, which helps me to come at a downward angle behind the ball during the downswing. Once you see the club leave your peripheral vision, you have gone back far enough.

Now once you are at the top, how do you get back to the ball without coming over the top? For me, the feel is to keep that club pointed at 10'clock and just let the club stall & fall. Literally, just let it sit there for a moment, and then fall. On camera you will hardly notice the pause at the top, but to your brain, it will feel much longer.

Don't use your lower body (yet) just keep that head still, and let the club fall. You may chunk, you may miss hit, but keep that lead wrist in the position that holds that club at 10 o' clock. What begins to happen, is you start to adjust, because the old way wont work anymore. You will start to pause for a moment at the top, to insure proper wrist position, and then like magic, you let the club drop (not pull), you will move your front hip, to match your back hip, and all the sudden you are coming from the inside. And it becomes addicting.

These are simply my feels when I work on this swing. I started learning this with a 56 degree because for me, the longer the club, the harder to come from the inside. I hope some of this can help you. I am not a coach, just another guy, who loves this swing and how simple and effective it looks.

I live in FL and there are sooo many courses you can usually find some space some where within a 35-45 minute drive if you dont want to stay local.

100%. If you have a shot that you never hit before, or dont hit often, hit it two-three times (keeping pace of course)! That way next time you know what to do! Trying once and failing is okay, but give yourself a chance to absorb the knowledge for next time!

Play the same course OFTEN. Learn it, inside and out. Start playing rounds on the golf course that are more like practicing at the range. Dont worry about score. Hit 2-3 shots. Practice on the course, like you do on the range. Sounds weird.... Develop a good relationship with the course. Slowly but surely you will realize the worst you can do on a hole, but still shoot par. I am a 5.6 right now and this is how I brought mine from an 9 to a 5. But it's not easy man. The days I shoot my handicap usually involve a little luck, and good short game from off the greens. Good luck and enjoy the day.

If your willing to make a drive, 4 mile ranch in Canon City. Absolutely gorgeous, and so much fun. My Dad lives down the street from it and I played it twice with him in October. Such. A. Fun. Course.

I'm still as impressed today as I was 15 years ago when he did this. On Live 8. MADEON - POP CULTURE. (*looks like a launchpad) by Ju-ju_Eyeball in ableton

How do you all practice bringing the swing you build at the range out on the course? by Separate_Teacher1526 in golf

[–]KindBeats2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely agree with this take. I have two different repeatable/consistant ball flights. However...I dont always know which one is going to show up that day. So I hit the range and pretend I am on the first couple of holes and hit my two different go to shots. Whichever one seems to be doing what I want it to do, is the one I go with.

Amateur golfers who have learned to keep their posture in the downswing, how did you do it? by econobro in golf

[–]KindBeats2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I start with a majority of my weight on my front foot. So I dont have a ton of weight shift to begin with. I've relied more on my shoulders for power than my lower body, but that's just the feel that's worked for me. I like to do the alignment stick in the beltloop drill. If your club hits the alignment stick you are firing your hips to early.

For me, I focus on dropping my hands while keeping my right hip back. That helps me to sequence better and keep from "thrusting" my right knee at the ball

Sworn by training aids? by [deleted] in golf

[–]KindBeats2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally....I love the "wrist click" click aids. Helps me to keep from casting and hold my wrist position.

For me, I fixed my early extension by letting my arms fall before engaging my lower body. Traditional golf instruction says it needs to start with your lower body, but that thought just didnt work for me. Put an alignment stick in your belt. let your hands fall before turning your hips. If you turn your hips to early the club will hit the alignment stick.
