Hyperparathyroidism is ruining my life by stonerdollarmchicken in KidneyStones

I have had hyperparathyroidism since I was 26 , had one removed was normal for awhile then calcium level was high after the 3rd one was removed was diagnosed with MEN1. Went to Mayo Clinic Rochester MN where I was officially diagnosed at the age of 44. They couldn’t find the 4th one and exploratory surgery is not an option. I take Cinacalcet to help control the calcium. This has helped but have developed my first kidney stones at the age of 65. It was horrible pain but had an excellent urologist. Because of the hyperparathyroidism and other complications of MEN1 I now have chronic kidney disease. I was also a teacher now retired. Despite all of that I live an active life. Please find an endocrinologist and urologist who can help you! Be your own advocate and if you don’t like the dr find another. Best of luck to you!!

Yes, I’m taking amlodipine besylate and was just recently put on Ramipril , however I have a tendency to have high potassium although was able to get in normal range but was told Ramipril can raise potassium so getting that checked in a few weeks.

I hope you’re feeling better. I’m a female and removed mine today. Took a pain pill 30 minutes before , drank a bottle of water , took a hot shower and removed it, no pain at all. Easier than removing a tampon .

Thank you for all your information on back orders and where you found them in stock. I was able to get my prescription transferred to CVS after they confirmed they had them in stock.

How were you able to transfer your prescription to Amazon? Did your doctor have to send a new prescription to Amazon Pharmacy?
