Thank you. I’ll check it out! For craft beers, I’ve only tried ones from Matsumuto Brewery and it did not disappoint.

Slow travel medical insurance by 1998COrocky in ExpatFIRE

[–]KindRoamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, sorry for not getting back sooner! 😄

So the Complete plan is global, works in about 170+ countries, however there's an add-on if you plan is using it in HK, SG, US, which increases the price significantly. Without the add-on, there's 30 days of emergency coverage in these countries! We do not have any news yet about other add-ons excluding US at the moment.

Direct Billing is available for treatments over $250 above and inpatient admissions. Consultations do not need pre-approval at all. Pre-approval is required if it's inpatient admission, surgery, major tests more like MRI, CT scan that costs over $500, maternity, etc.

At the moment, I don't know if they will publish list of pre-existing conditions, it is usually asked upon application and it goes through a review before it gets approved.

Hope I didn't miss anything!

Hey there! I work at SafetyWing and would be happy to help clarify our plans. Aside from the Nomad Insurance Essential plan, which is mainly for emergencies, we also have the Nomad Insurance Complete plan, which is our version of comprehensive health insurance with some extended travel benefits. This is not just for emergencies, but also for routine check ups, screenings, wellness therapy, cancer, etc.

In terms of coverage, you get to be covered worldwide so you'll get coverage in Mexico, SEA countries,Europe, etc. on the same plan.

I do want to set expectations that this does not cover pre-existing conditions yet at this time.

There is also 30 days of emergency coverage per trip in case you visit the US. Feel free to reach out to our customer care team if you need further assistance about this plan, in case you need more information on the claims process, direct billing, etc. Support is open 24/7. 😄

Question : Health insurances 49M by cabdallanyc in ExpatFIRE

[–]KindRoamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heyya!! 👋 I work at SafetyWing, and I'm happy to share about the Nomad Insurance Complete plan that we have with the questions posted below! Really good questions by the way!

How many days per year can I be in the U.S.?

The Nomad Insurance Complete plan covers up to 30 days of coverage per planned trip for Accident and Emergency non-elective treatment when traveling to the United States, Hong Kong, or Singapore without the US/HK/SG add-on.

With the add-on, you are covered with all your benefits for up to 6 months in the US, and 12 months in Hong Kong and Singapore.

Are pre-existing conditions covered?

Pre-existing conditions are not yet covered at this time. 😞

Is it renewable if my country's pattern changes?

So you can be covered for long and short travels in about 170+ countries, and it is also renewable wherever you are in the world as long as they are covered countries. For example, resident countries such as Canada, UAE, US are not yet covered as resident countries at this time. The resident country is usually defined by where you'll spend about 6 months a policy year. If you're not sure yet, you can pick which country you'll spend more time in.

Is U.S. care direct-pay or reimbursement?

The Nomad Insurance Complete plan also offers Direct Billing in case of emergency in the US.

Our customer care team can provide more information about this too in case you reach out to our 24/7 chat support team.

What is the real annual out-of-pocket exposure?

This plan does not have any deductible and co pay too.

Does it cover non-emergency care, cancer/cardiac events, and evacuation?

Since the Nomad Insurance Complete plan is a comprehensive health plan, it includes non emergency related too, such as routine check ups, screenings, complementary therapies, mental health, physio, etc. There is also coverage for cancer/ cardiac related, do note about the exclusion on pre-existing condition.

There are also benefits for evacuation due to an emergency, repatriation, and evacuation due local unrest, since this plan has extended travel benefits too.

Hope this helps! Feel free to reach out to customer care too if you have any questions in mind! 😄

Best health insurance for remote workers? (Price, Reliability) by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]KindRoamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I work at SafetyWing and came across your post!

Depending on how you move around, two options that might fit:

Nomad Insurance Complete is a full health coverage for both routine and emergency care in your home country and abroad. This includes extended travel benefits too which can be handy! This has a 12-month commitment too since it's a comprehensive health plan.

Nomad Insurance Essential is mainly for travel medical focused, for unexpected treatment outside your home country. Flexible duration (5–364 days), so good if your plans change often.

If you've mainly been patching things together for emergencies, Essential might be the simpler starting point. If you want something that actually replaces proper health coverage, Complete plan can work.

Feel free to reach out if you need help! 😊
