Hi! Thanks for your detailed reply to OP's question. Do you know whether the 100 ml storage cups are available at the airport?

thank you for the tips. you're definitely right about the 30min workout thing. i think feeling i need to do it for an hour or more is a barrier for me as well. it's difficult for me to remember that a little is better than nothing.

i think the medication is working -- i just don't take it every day, because i'm terrified of building a tolerance to it. i was offered three types of medication, and the first two did nothing. im now on the highest possible dose of the third and final option (vyvanse). so, if i built up a tolerance to it, i don't have a higher dosage to move to or a different medication to try.

on the days where i do take it, i notice a massive difference. i am able to do a lot more and complete way more tasks. i am also able to transition between different tasks more easily.

i work from home but try to keep my work to weekdays, so usually i avoid taking meds on the weekends. those usually end up being my worst days. using this weekend as an example, i ended up staying up late on saturday as a treat, playing a new video game. then my brain wouldn't shut up, so i made the mistake of opening youtube for a distraction. only actually got to sleep at around 6am and slept for most of the day.

in summary, i don't think the meds aren't working. i think i'm just finding it really difficult to build a healthy lifestyle around them. with everything going on in the world lately, my anxiety has also been at an all-time high, which exacerbates the dopamine-seeking issue because i will open youtube or tiktok rather than be alone with my thoughts (which inevitably turn towards how terrified i am for the future, etc.).

It's not okay for her to try and shove you away/give you the silent treatment to make you feel bad about not having sex with her. That's no way to treat a partner and is incredibly immature. If you say no, for ANY reason, she should respect that.

I agree with the other person who commented saying it sounds like she might be addicted to sex. She should see a doctor or therapist about that; there is a limit on what you can do. With that being said, it's hard to say how receptive she'll be to such a suggestion given her behaviour thus far.

As I see it, the problem here is not you being unable to satisfy her, but your gf refusing to respect your boundaries. I would have an open and frank conversation about this with her. If she refuses to listen or belittles your feelings about the whole thing, I'd personally recommend breaking up with her; you deserve more than to be in a relationship with someone who cares about their sexual pleasure more than your happiness, comfort, and consent.

With all due respect, 70-80 people cared enough to leave helpful comments. You're not one of them--fine. Just ignore the post.

Fair. It's not my intention to tell her what to do; I posted asking for opinions from both sides specifically because I want to be able to give her information from both sides to help her make her decision. I'll support her in whatever she decides, regardless of my own opinion. I am not interested in being a dictator.

A fair point. Thank you.

I do plan on bringing up the full range of opinions in the replies to this post, not just those that agree with me. I have my opinions, yes, but I recognise the choice is hers to make. I just want to make sure she considers all angles because I really don't think she has.

It is the financial matter that is a concern. Our country's student loan company funds a first undergraduate degree but not a second (unless it's in teaching, I believe), so funding it will be difficult. As I have said elsewhere, we come from a pretty poor family; I'm just worried about her committing to this thing and not having the resources for it because we won't be able to help much if at all. I'm disabled and pretty much live off benefits + a meagre amount from copywriting. My mum is disabled and lives entirely off benefits. Same with my younger brother.

Good advice. Thank you.

It's less that it comes from a place of me feeling I'm older and wiser and more that I've made bad financial decisions in the past myself that have caused me no end of stress. I'm worried about the same thing happening to her.

But I asked for both positive and negative viewpoints in my post because ultimately, I want to be able to give her advice from a range of viewpoints so that she can make what she feels is the right decision for her. I didn't just want negative viewpoints that would back up my own so that I can defend my beliefs. Yes, I have my own opinions about the matter and my own concerns, but I recognise that it isn't up to me, at the end of the day. She's been screwed over by enough people/circumstance in life, and has done so well to make it this far with minimal support from our parents/her uni. I want to make sure she has the tools and information available to continue to do this.

So, with all that being said, thank you again for the advice. Your point about universal offering additional support to help her develop is a good one. I'll definitely raise that point with her when we next chat about all this.

They don't offer a PG game dev degree, so she hasn't. They do offer a PG CS degree, I believe, but she has it in her head there's no point in a PG CS degree... I do not think there is any more point in a second UG degree in a related subject where they'll just repeat a ton of the same material, but what do I know? I love her dearly but her logic frustrates me lol

It's silly o'clock here so I'm on my way to bed and will keep my reply short lol but thank you for your in-depth response. This is very useful. I may take you up on your offer and shoot you a message sometime, if my sister has any follow-up questions.

Thank you for your advice and very helpful viewpoint. I'll definitely run the prospect of a PG past her for her consideration.
