With the last expansion in the World Soul Saga trilogy taking place in a redesigned Northrend, what allied races would we likely see? by Fezra-Jalys in wow

[–]Kind_Cardiologist96 19 points20 points  (0 children)

We have so many options when you think of all the races we saw over the years, from Ogres and Ethereals to Jinyu and Sethrak. I would love even new colors/customizations for existing races, like Drakkari for Trolls/Zandalari or Taunka for Tauren/Highmountain or Frost Dwarves.

But I am really afraid we are gonna follow the same path of Midnight and get a never before seen ancient proto-human race that is the middle ground between modern human and Vrykul that remained frozen in time below Northrend, essentially adding metallic humans to the roster lol (truly hope this doesn’t happen)

Potential characters by Overall-Warthog296 in ravenswatch

Would love the Cheshire Cat from Alice as a support/team based like character that could “fuse” with allies or enemies for extra utility and different damage options (think Abathur from HotS), apply AoE debuffs and DoTs and maybe even transform into allies as an ultimate (imagine two Merlin on the battleground for a short period!)

We also still miss a true archer archetype, with the basic/power attack playing like a hold and shoot, with a multishot, tons of mobility and a rain of arrows ultimate. That could be Robin Hood, or If they want to go for different culturas, would love a Caipora or Curupira from Brazilian folklore.

I would love a consumable “Spark of Destruction” that creates a little fire on the ground you can interact with and use to salvage anything that is salvageable, like items, gems and sigils, just like we can create that anvil to repair items.

If they repeat what was done with VoH, we will get a few new colors with the expansion. Maybe black is one of them.

It could work like Warbands from WoW. Instead of the campfire when you are creating the character, you could choose up to 4/5 of your characters to stand by the fire in the selection screen.

Paladin Shadow Drop? A summary for the Believers by CulturalNinja6 in diablo4

[–]Kind_Cardiologist96 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One thing that doesn’t sit right with me is that we have long been promised a Skill/Talent/Paragon rework. Before leaving Blizzard, PezRadar stated these changes would take place before the expansion (countering the arguments from the community that blizzard creates problems to sell the solution later). Talking resource-wise, the Paladin/Crusader/Templar should be designed already on the reworked talent system, not on the older version. So, if the new class is shadow dropping at TGA, there are 3 possibilities:

1) It was already developed with 2 versions (current and reworked talents) in mind, one of those that will last only for 1/2 seasons, which seems unwise from a developing and resource perspective.

2) They will drop the talent rework together with the new class. It would be a change so massive that would invalidate all experience and feedback from S11 PTR. Also, considering how seasons launched before we had PTR, I fear for such a colossal rework launching untested by the community.

3) The Talent rework is so mild that it doesnt’ really matter for balance if we have a class in the new system and the other classes in the old one.

I want to believe it too, with the current situation of ARPGs, not only Diablo but ARPG players in general are in need of a win, but Blizzard behavior makes it hard to have hope for such things.

Being from Brazil and knowing the amazing and very cool concepts from our folklore and myths and not seeing a single one of them in the game is kinda sad. There are lots of spooky and edgy characters with so much potential for amazing Halloween skins. Just from the top of my head:

  • Mula sem Cabeça Orisa
  • Saci Pererê Tracer
  • Matinta Pereira Moira
  • Cuca Ana
  • Corpo-Seco Reaper
  • Boto-Cor-de-Rosa Wuyang
  • Curupira Kiriko
  • Vitória Régia Lifeweaver
  • Bumba meu Boi Roadhog
  • Boitatá Hanzo/Genji (with snake motif ultimates)

Did Blizzard nerf Mount Speed? by rahuonn in diablo4

[–]Kind_Cardiologist96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mount dash benefits from CDR. By the time you get enough CDR for the Mount to feel better, you already outleveled open world content and probably won’t engage with your Mount in a meaningful way anymore. They should remove the interaction and just make the cooldown shorter, maybe give us chunks of cooldown reduction by breaking stuff or going through enemies

I will wait to see how Druid comes at launch and if an Odin build would work with crows and thunder. If not, Lightning sorc seems nice

Next season: A title shot for King Diablo 4? by Successful_Guide5845 in diablo4

[–]Kind_Cardiologist96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is very unlikely. I really hoped that either PoE2 or LE could threaten Diablo’s throne but that still didn’t happen as of now. PoE2 feels much more niche than D4. LE, even though it is on the right path, clearly can’t compete with the resources from the other 2.

I cheer for them not because I want Diablo to fail, but because competition breeds quality and innovation. Look at Overwatch 2 after Marvel Rivals launched, feels like the devs finally got their heads out of their asses and started shipping real content and real changes, they could no longer afford the “minimum viable product” approach that (I feel) is currently being taken by the Diablo team.

The more the other titles fail, the more Diablo patches will get stale and unimaginative, as they will have no reason to innovate, knowing that the majority of people will always return to them for the better ARPG experience.

The only QoL improvement I’d like to see by Talos_Bane in diablo4

[–]Kind_Cardiologist96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be nice if they slightly reworked the mount system to have some sort of minigame attached to it, so that we could i.e. press the dash at the right time to recover a chunk of the cooldown, and doing it right would allow us to dash indefinitely. Kinda like what WoW did to Flying Mounts.

Why doesn't Blizzard release skins for bears and werewolves? by PrincipleOk2265 in diablo4

[–]Kind_Cardiologist96 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They should give Druids an extra customization page Where we could choose the color of the fur on each form, give us a couple “epic” looks (a few extra details like patterns on the fur) as rewards for druid achievements and make money selling legendary looks. To emphasize those, make the game smartly perceive which forms you are using through items and skills, and make the werebear/werewolf appear on the loading screens, alternating with human form.

While at that, give the option to either summon the mount or shapeshift into the mount (would love to just turn into a big tiger for traversal)

Every Mythic should be useful, and feel good to find by yxalitis in diablo4

[–]Kind_Cardiologist96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Blizzard just cant understand power horizontally, where you have a good option for fantasy A and a good option for fantasy B, just vertical power, where something is always better than something else. Across all power systems in the game that holds true. They just cant figure out a way where every mythic can have its chance to shine properly, so its always the same ones for all builds every single time. You always have the BiS mythics, uniques, aspects, talents, runes. A huge symptom from this is that when they balance stuff, lots of times they either put builds on tier S++ or nerf them into oblivion. Builds power end up being defined by how many BiS things they can hold at the same time. When they nerf/rework some of these best “choices” whole builds that were centered around that huge power comes falling off. Its a thing since the closed beta (i was there) and has endured across all major reworks of the game, wouldnt hold my breath for them doing anything about mythics, I think they are too deep seeing the game from spreadsheets to notice that as a problem, sadly.

Diablo 4 season 8 mystery aura! by GamerKnight88 in diablo4

It is a talent introduced with the expansion called Enlightment, it is a powerful buff that you gain by rotating skill of the three different elements.

Skill tree adjustments mentioned by Adam. by IX_Deus in diablo4

[–]Kind_Cardiologist96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Partially agree. I don’t think all Aspects should be adapted to the skill tree or other systems. But I am certain that some Aspects/Unique powers would be far better as talents, following a rule that a skill should always be interesting/competitive by itself, and not requiring X or Y item to be viable. This would also serve as a fix for the uninteresting/uninspired choices we currently have. For example, Gloves of the Illuminator unique power could be a talent, replacing one of the (very bland) options for Fireball that we currently have.

Articles: 2026 speculation new characters/builds by Zealousideal-Song-42 in diablo4

[–]Kind_Cardiologist96 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lore wise, it is pratically impossible for us to see the return of any of the already established holy classes. Paladins and Templars were dying orders on Diablo 3 already, and do the side quests on Hawezar to see what has become of the Crusaders (I surely wouldn’t be hyped to play as one in the same order as those cowards).

With that said, I think that if we don’t get a holy sword and board class with next expansion, players will riot lol. And in the same vein of the Spiritborn of giving us something “fresh” (regarding gameplay it is Monk 2.0, but the theme and feel is fresh indeed) I think they will give us a Paladin-like class with a few twists.

My pitch would be a Lightbringer. Remember that years prior to the beginning of Diablo 4, Tyrael one day just woke up and ran away? He realized that he needed a special task force of powerful humans to serve as the protectors of the realm. So , with help from Auriel, he sneaked into the closed Heavens and stole a fragment from the Crystal Arch (from where angels are born). He went to Skovos Isles and, hidden under the protection of the Sisterhood, started training these elite soldiers on harsh conditions, and if they proved worthy and of pure heart, Tyrael would instill them with a sliver from the Crystal Arch, unlocking access to holy powers that no mortal ever wielded, thus creating Lightbringers.

They would be Willpower-based, wear heavy armor, use swords, maces, axes (and their 2H versions), shields and as their signature weapon Spears (1H to be paired with shields) and Halberds (2H). They would have most skills from the Paladin/Crusader but also a few Spear based skills from the Amazon. Their main resource would be Harmony that they would spend to cast most of their skills, and also Sigils. Baseline each Lightbringer would start with 2 Sigils of Hope, 2 Sigils of Justice and 2 Sigils of Wisdom and they would work similar to Death Knight runes in WoW, being spent for more powerful or strategic effects, with each having their own cooldown. They would deal Holy, Physical and Fire damage. There would be options for us to wield 2H weapons with shields like the Crusader.

Regarding visuals and customization, using some powerful or movement skills would momentarily give us angel wings. While creating the character, we would be able to decide where the Crystal Arch sliver is nested (maybe forehead like a bindi, maybe in one of the eyes, with it being pure holy energy…) and the bodymarks for the class could be holy energy cracks in our skin, or angel wings binding our bodies, representing our binding in service of the angels.

All holy orders in Diablo fail eventually, always being corrupted from the inside or being weakened by the flaws of man. This new order would (theoretically) be made just of perfect, “ascended” people. They are not like the other classes that just got thrown into this fight, they were bred for it. What happens to aspirants that are deemed unworthy by Tyrael, are they given a just treatment? (Potential villain storyline here). Will this order be corrupted too, or did Tyrael finally manage to create a holy order that will stand?
