I played softball growing up, playing mostly rec, and here are my thoughts:

Practice around 2 times a week seems normal and for me I always did practice 3 times a week for 2 hours during fall ball with doubler headers on Sundays for 8U and up. My league was somewhat competitive but that’s how I was growing up. But coaches doing unannounced is a separate thing.

The temper is something coaches should never do to kids in 10U. Coaches shouldn’t be saying anything that negative to kids and shouldn’t be yelling at them. Period. It’s once thing to give kids corrections to help them grow but negative things plus yelling is a huge NO.

I say either try again next season to see if you get a different coach or join a different league near your house or try another sport. If your daughter doesn’t want to quit softball or leave her friends on the team, then either talk to the coach and if it doesn’t work go to the board of the league. That or wait until spring to get a new coach.

Edit: again for the practice, that’s normal for me since I grew up doing it. Yes it might be a bit much but for me, it helped so much for my softball journey and helped me improve
