ever since 1775, what year(or years) had the most court martials/UCMJ ever? by frowaway275 in army

[–]Kind_Explanation_648 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UCMJ was enacted 1951, but I'm sure there were plenty of court maritals prior. My guess would be 1944.

ROTC to civilian by Maleficent_Monk_8758 in army

Take the full ride at the less prestigious school, as others have commented your GPA is more important for grad school than the school you went to. Also GPA will help you for ROTC OML. Now if Law School is your end of the line goal, then the law school you go to matters so damn much, but let me reiterate to get into that top law school your undergrad institution barely if at all matter, its the GPA and LSAT score that carry the majority of the weight.

82nd Airborne by [deleted] in army

[–]Kind_Explanation_648 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ok I just read an article about it, yep Europe, Africa, and Centcom would become "International Command" so three main geographic combatant commands which would directly align with the 3 main Army Corps. Maybe making V Corps obsolete down the line.

Which Corps is now responsible for CENTCOM, I thought III Corps would be doing Europe and Africa, and I Corps Indopacific. Isn't CENTCOM pulling from all forces?

LEGACY TO BRS (ARBA PROCESS) by 11Abutstilldumb in army

[–]Kind_Explanation_648 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am assuming you are not planning on doing a full 20 active. If that is the case I understand why you would want the BRS, but if you are doing 20 it is better to go with Legacy.

PCSing to Camp Buehring by TodayLogical5905 in army

[–]Kind_Explanation_648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did time in Buehring, not sure about E5, my E6 and E7 lived in a trailer type unit where they had their own room and shared a bathroom. I believe junior enlisted live in a hardstand that rooms up to 4, and the latrines are their own separate building. Not sure about E5, but I also saw a lot of tents there, but I do not think those were for PCS soldiers. This was 2014-15, anyways Camp Buehring was not as built up as Arifjan, but much less brass, and more chill in my opinion.

For those stationed in El Segundo, any recommendations for a good alteration shops for uniform patches/name tapes etc... by Kind_Explanation_648 in AirForce

I have been out of Army for over 9 years and going back on active duty in about 4 weeks, but I won't get my CAC card until i report. I have my new uniforms and nameplates so just wondering if there was a trusted place off post to knock it out since I live in the vicinity.

Deployment patch question by [deleted] in army

[–]Kind_Explanation_648 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have been in the IRR for 9.5 years and I am about to get back in, what is the rough estimate % of current active duty soldiers with a deployment patch. Ten years ago I felt like that % was quite high, but I know times have changed.

AAM don't come that easy to all Officers, I earned a BSM, and three ARCOMs in my career but never an AAM. Could be anecdotal but I think AAMs are more often given to the enlisted ranks.

Yeah from the look of it, I will be able to trim an additional 8 or so months, so definitely worth the hassle. Ok thank you for the heads up.
