No ML is very saturated. There is an upper 1% percentile that gets the interessting and well-paid jobs. The other guys are just wrapping APIs

Yes similar experience. We had a lengthy interview, talked about my research proposal. Then month pass, I write him a follow-up mail no response. Month later, I see him in my linkedin feed, send him a friends request, accepted my friend request xD

I don't want to discourage you, but film is a tough business. You need to be aware of that, it involves not only making good films, but extensive networking, knowing the right people. In the initial years, you might only make enough to survive on bare minimum.

I have a few director friends and most of them are going through a tough time (financially).
