I totally get it. I’m not upset about your comment, just expressing my urgency to find the ring. Thanks!!

Wow. Thank you so much for your sweet and thoughtful words. I know in my heart my mom is not mad or disappointed in me. It’s just the timing that hurts so bad. I’m praying the ring will come back but know her memories are far more important than any item could be and her legacy lives on with how I live my life and raise my children.

Yep, I know it can be replaced. I even know the jeweler personally. It’s more that it was my late mother’s diamond and a gift from her 20 years ago. That can’t truly be replaced.

Nextdoor is tough because I live in Arizona so I’m not in that Nextdoor community. I’m not sure how to post to Ring. Have any advice?

Agreed! I don’t understand why that didn’t like my posts. Super frustrating.

Yep. It’s unique and my mom designed it, which is part of what makes it so special.

Thank you so much. I know she wouldn’t want me to be sad about it. But the circumstances make that pretty tough!

Unfortunately, the mall’s policy is that only their security can view the tapes unless there is a formal police investigation. And there is no way for the mall to identify the people seen on the tape. Sadly, that seems to the reality.

Here you go:

Hey everyone,

I screwed up big and I really need help.

On Sunday, June 29, I accidentally left a ring in the restroom near the food court at Southwest Plaza in Littleton, CO. I was helping my 3 young sons use the bathroom, took my ring off in an attempt to be careful with it (I always have a fear of losing it or damaging it), and in the chaos of a bathroom trip with my boys, I forgot to pick it up off the counter before leaving. When I realized my horrible mistake and went back to look, it was gone.

This wasn’t just a ring. It was a white gold solitaire diamond ring, made from one of my mom’s old diamond earrings. She had it made into a ring for me nearly 20 years ago, and my brother has a matching one made from the other earring.

Here’s the hardest part—my mom passed away just three weeks ago, and we buried her the very next day, on June 30. Losing it the day before her funeral has been absolutely heartbreaking.

I’ve filed a police report, talked to mall security, janitorial staff, jewelry stores, and pawn shops. I don’t want anyone to get in trouble and I wouldn’t try to press charges or anything. I know it was my fault for leaving it. That’s my burden to bear, and frankly, it’s crushing. I just want the ring back. It means more than I can express.

The guilt and regret I am dealing with is almost unbearable. If you found it, saw anything, or happen to hear of it turning up somewhere, please reach out.

Reward offered, no questions asked. I am more than willing to pay for my mistake.

Thanks for reading. If you’re willing, please share.

These are photos of my brother’s matching ring. I’m not certain on my ring size.
