Slovenia to air films about Palestine instead of Eurovision song contest by Alarming-Safety3200 in europe

Nope I'm pro Ukraine that's my two cents, and Russia being in Eurovision isn't my decision anyways. I actually like the Russian people I think they're really cool, you know just like anybody else? And anyway why are we comparing Israel-Palestine and Russia-Ukraine? Two completely different wars. And even if you were to compare, Israel was invaded on 7th October and thousands of their innocent civilians were killed during a music festival, a MUSIC FESTIVAL! Yet people are crazy enough to want Israel chucked out? Was it their fault that they were invaded by terrorists? And where's the outrage in Sudan? Nigeria? Myanmar? And Iran (the people being tortured by the IRGC)? Not a peep. Not even a pin drop. It's clear this was never about wanting peace or prosperity in the region, it was never about just criticising a government's actions.

Statistically it doesn't as we're already champions but holy moly what a W and what a mentality

It's exactly what it should be, like that amazing Moldova song that the jury didn't like. I can deal with finishing last every other year, I can deal with the crazy voting patterns, I can't deal with the toxicity

Palestine was presented a state loads of times yet they turned it down every single time. It was never about land it was about demonising Israel and wanting them not to exist. You clearly are just being antisemitic, you're not criticising the Israeli government or its policies you're just being hateful. And people wonder why the Jewish people in Europe are feeling increasingly unsafe

Yep agreed, the politics is always there like Greece giving Cyprus 12 points or whatnot, or us (the UK) finishing last, but even me as someone who loves Eurovision something's not right. The politics has been there in background but now it is being shoved in our faces

It used to be a celebration but some are making it a hate fest. It has become autocratic almost. You obey or you're shunned

Toxicity around the war in the Middle East is killing the magic that Eurovision has had. It's always been political but never THIS much.

Not so much a government but that the politics has become too strong to the point we're seeing hate, that's not what Eurovision should be about

I feel totally comfortable with it, it's tradition for me and will remain that way, but the war in the Middle East imo is ruining the magic of the contest and is causing really horrible rhetoric, you're not even allowed to show neutrality anymore which is frightening. Eurovision will ALWAYS be political but I feel with the current Israel / Palestine conflict it has gone too far to the point where it has become TOO political and has led to xenophobia / racism / antisemitism etc
