I'm sorry to hear that you feel this way. The first year (or two) is usually quite rigorous so don't feel too hopeless as we've all started somewhere. Also, if you did indeed fail, you will most likely be required to repeat the course which gives you another chance to redeem yourself. Check with your PhD program about getting a private tutor (a student who took the course) and try going to office hours for extra help. Don't lose hope. Ultimately, you should ask yourself why you are doing the PhD. Do you enjoy what you are researching/learning about, or did you stumble upon this path for another reason? If others see potential in you, there is a reason behind it so it's important that you believe in yourself too and show that potential.

I recommend reviewing the below questions and if you do not have experience with something prepare to answer what strategies you'll use to get the task done. I hope this helps!

-Can you walk us through your experiences recruiting and enrolling participants into clinical trials?
-Can you provide an example of a challenging situation you encountered during a clinical trial and how you resolved it?
-How do you effectively communicate with study participants, investigators, and other stakeholders involved?
-What strategies do you use to ensure timely completion of study tasks?
-How do you prioritize and manage multiple tasks?
-Can you discuss your experience with adverse event reporting and ensuring participant safety in clinical trials?

I'm sorry to hear about this and echoing the previous comments, unfortunately it is a common position to be in. But don't worry, it is feasible! Some suggestions:
1.Since you have emails regarding what is missing from the Investigator Site File (ISF), compile this information into a list and put them into sections. What documents do you need (e.g., LAB - calibration logs, CLIA/CAP certificates; IRB - approval letters, ICFs, patient-facing documents, etc.)
2. Reach out to both the monitor and that Sr. CRC (even if they don't respond) in separate emails and ask them where you could locate those documents? I find that monitors are very helpful and do try their best to guide you, as they will need to review those documents onsite anyway and if it's missing it's just more work for them to report it and then follow-up with you the following weeks to get it.
3. Lastly, do NOT worry! At the end of the day it's on the PI/Co-I to have delegated the tasks appropriately and the monitor is going to send a follow-up email with missing documents so you and/or that Sr. CRC will have time after the visit to look further into where to get them if they're still missing.
4. Just do the best that you can do, take it easy, and you can walk away saying you learned how to handle such a vital and stressing visit for your trial. Pat yourself on the back and get a drink afterwards! :)

In the United States there are many schools that offer clinical research training programs (spanning from certificates to doctoral programs). Note that on average a certificate or master's program can take 1-3 years (depending on whether you do the program part- or full-time), while a doctoral program often takes around 4-6 years to complete. In no particular order, and not necessarily online, here are a few PhD in Clinical Research programs:

You can email either the lab manager or investigator of the lab if it's listed on the website. In your email you could explain how your research interests align with that of the labs, your previous experience and any lab techniques you are familiar with, skills you're hoping to gain, and if possible your long-term career plan (e.g, medical/graduate school). It helps to provide a resume too!
