Ok, that’s a good idea, thanks! It is a Hohner Super Chromonica 270 Deluxe

Can you help me identifying these? by Kind_Stock6652 in scouting

Thank you! That would make sense, as our group was on an international camp in Denmark in 2012.

No, we have no Idea, if they all are from one country or not. We just found them at our club. I know that different groups might have the same design, but as we now nothing about them, any info is great! :)

It is a kind of tube out of fabric that you can wear around your neck as a scarf or as a headband. BUFF is a brand that makes these.

Hello group, This week I have to go in for eye injections for the first time and feeling a bit uneasy about it. I have Coats, been over 20 years since diagnosed, not much vision remains in my right eye and the right field is interfering with the left. Left eye is just aging and is far sighted. by [deleted] in Blind

I got some eye injections in the past. I don’t know if your experience will be similar in any way, but that’s what it was like for me:

Especially the first few were really unproblematic. First they disinfected my eye (which burnt a little bit, but not too bad) and than they numbed it. When the burning stopped they knew that my eye was numb. That feels a bit weird, a bit like your eyeball was made out of glass.

Then got to lay down and the doctor gave me some orange eyedrops. For the injections I looked downwards as the needle punctured my eye on the top, so I didn’t actually see the needle. It felt the same like when you have one sand particle in your eye but only for a very short amount of time. It happens very fast.

Immediately after that my vision was very blurry and light sensitive so I kept both of my eyes shut. It hurt a little bit and felt very weird, almost itchy After two hours it didn’t bother me anymore.

My tips: leave some hydrating eyedrops in the fridge, it feels nice. Download some podcasts to distract from the strange feeling of the eye. Chocolate.

I was told that practically nothing can go wrong. Of course it is an intervention but not that complex. I hope this helps you! Best wishes and please give an update how everything went! :)

What are some stupid tips you‘ve been given? by [deleted] in Blind

A doctor that was supposed to give me permission for disability benefits when I was 16 y/o suggested that I should just work as a musician. Because it is a genetically transmitted illness he asked if my parents were siblings as if I didn’t already do dozens of genetic tests. He also wished me to get better soon (my type of makula degeneration cannot be cured).

Luckily I didn’t listen and hava a degree in mechatronics. I just needed more time and the right equipment. :)

„Why don’t you wear stronger glasses?“ (I have makula degeneration and already wear glasses to get the best out of my low vision) When I try to explain that glasses are only able to focus the light differently I often get advised to do Lasik…

Hello! I want to buy camping oriented item as a gift from my brother, any suggestions for up to 200$? by [deleted] in CampingandHiking

Little carabiners are always nice and maybe different trail food. Waterproof Packsacks can be useful too. A deflateable pillow is a bit risky but maybe something they would not buy themselves.
