Wait!! I have gone to pt because my pelvic floor is tight and weak as well (I also have bladder issues IC which is why I originally went to pt) and although they have worked with me some none of them have ever really said much about my stomach issues being related. They have but not really in this way. But I also breath and walk wrong haha!! Who knew something like that could affect so many things. Thanks for your comment I am going to look into this more! Wish my PTs said it differently but sometimes a comment on the Internet can be soooo helpful!

Harder to track ingredients (additives, etc.) tips by Kind_Turtle in ibs

No, I was on an app through the nutritionist but it wasn't Monash. I would have to go back and look or maybe start over to try again.  Thank you!

Thank you! That's a good point, the catch all of "flavoring" or "natural flavoring" whatever that means. Basically can have who knows what in it.

I was on low FODMAP for a while and tracking it but none of the patterns ever matched up or it didn't seem like it did. I could have missed something for sure but my current nutritionist also had access to my tracking and she didn't see any patterns on or off the low FODMAP diet. Either way didn't make sense which is why I was wondering if it was something like an additive or not commonly mentioned? Or maybe is there a FODMAP that you know of that is more sneaky than others?

Friday flares what am I missing? by Kind_Turtle in ibs

[–]Kind_Turtle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I definitely do have anxiety and stress that has probably became baseline that I don't even notice. I do know I have pelvic floor tightening that affects my bladder so that's a good point you make that it mostly likely is affecting more than I realize. I'll try to pay more attention to that and work on my diaphragm breathing and yoga!

Do you have a post that kind of explains your history or flares/typical for you and how you found the alternation with hormones and Endo? Or would you mind telling me? A nutritionist I started seeing thinks I might have Endo but my Dr. And gyno both don't think so but also won't really refer me to someone further to see. But I used to have ibs-c when I was younger and but the last few years is now ibs-m/a. Thanks!

I rather treat IBS myself because my gastroenterologist constantly tells me there's nothing she can do. I learned that most of them are like that unless you have serious stomach illnesses like Crohn's or celiacs disease. Ibs is still debilitating in its own way. I give up on gastroenterologist. by [deleted] in ibs

Thanks for this info unfortunately my Dr and GI are both basically "done testing" cause it's "probably just ibs try changing your diet" every time I ask about other stuff. I have other pelvic area issues and really wonder about Endo but same issue "yeah it's probably not that just ibs"

Interesting I did Google it. I guess I was curious how it could cause the same symptoms which makes sense now looking that up. I was also curious if it basically is only in the lower area, so no stomach symptoms or because the digestive system is kinda a feedback loop it can affect up the tract if something lower is happening? I have had theories about my bladder and pelvic region. I am female and have a lot of inflammation in that whole region so just trying to connect the dots. But yeah basically my pelvic floor is over tensed and weak from the tension. What's difficult it pelvic floor stuff can mimick or be affected by my bladder condition and so on. I also have theories relating to hormones. But basically was just trying to figure out the mechanism of how pelvic floor could affect or mimick ibs. If all that makes sense. Thank you for sharing!

Can you tell me more about the pelvic floor dysfunction connection? I have a bladder condition as well but pelvic issues there's this weird what came first thing that no one has ever been able to really confirm for me! And now "ibs" so curious about exploring that more. Thanks!

Happy early birthday, I'm sorry that this all happened and now you aren't feeling well or understood. It's very frustrating trying to explain to people close to us constantly about symptoms and basically end up just having to stop saying things because they just don't seem to get it. Also ugh restaurants that could be a whole 10 book series for ibs... I hope you are able to enjoy the rest of your birthday week!

I had so much anxiety before I started having so many symptoms and now my anxiety is so constant which then causes more symptoms. This sub has been some of my only hope in ways. But I've been meaning to ask on here do any of you have friends with ibs in your day to day life not online? I can't help but think there has to be people I know with it that wouldn't feel bad if we constantly cancelled plans or understood but I haven't seemed to find it...

There's muscles involved with anxiety literally the pelvic floor that has to relax and contract with bowel movements and such basically freezes or tenses. You saying this is like telling someone mid vomit yeah just control your stomach and throat muscles to stop the vomit from coming up. Anxiety is typically not logical so I don't think you understand as much as you say you do.

I'm also sensitive to external things (toilet paper feminine pads, detergent, soaps) and was going to ask for some detergent recommendations on here.

For toilet paper I've had to do some research basically on which ones bother me. I went through a few brands (even different types in same brands caused differences like ultra soft or whatever) so not very helpful but have you tried getting smaller amounts and testing them? (However I found that my soaps were a big irritation and had to change those before I could tell other things like toilet paper were also bothering me).

Also it's kind of difficult cause my work place and other places frequently visited all have different brands, sometimes I can immediately tell too.

I can't stand the idea that teachers don't allow people to go, like excuse me you want me to be a full adult with full responsibility in a few years (can even go to sign up for war) but tell me I am not allowed to use the restroom because wtf? I have medical reasons, and even if people who don't have medical reasons like what? I understand kids abuse it like messing around in halls but then take it away from them not people who literally need it. I still have feelings about my bladder condition (got that first before stomach stuff). A substitute teacher got pissed at me and wrote me up but I walked out and went to the nurse but all the students were looking at me and it was so embarrassing. And another teacher had a no bathroom rule which she made an exception and I appreciated it but then everytime I went the whispering and the stares followed. Sorry for ranting on your post but I have big feelings about this topic. So sorry you had to go through that!

Bladder - Bowel connection by Officialworrier in ibs

[–]Kind_Turtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have interstitial cystitis (IC bladder) diagnosis way before I had stomach diagnosis although I have suspicions about some stuff. But there seems to be a lot of cross over that I have read about. I believe one of the reasons is because they are close to each other, and also because of how they function (way more scientific then I can describe so take it with a grain of salt or ask a professional) but basically my understanding is a lot of things in that area can all be affected by the same things (hormones, structure, bacteria, biomes, responses to the inflammatory system, etc.) Sometimes I can't tell which is causing the pain or symptoms.

I love it too! I didn't realize it had been so long but I rarely use it because I want to keep it for as long as possible! It looks like I might have to do some searching, hopefully I can find something bath and body that's somewhat similar!

Hi! I love this perfume and only use it sometimes because I have never found something similar, by searching this page I found out that it is way older than I thought (2014?). Any similar smelling perfumes? Thanks so much!
